When Ian Walker was our number one, he used to be my favourite player. Bit weird he is, but for some random reason I liked him!

Mabizela, just for that introduction and the thunderbolt against leicester.

I remember the commentary in that game and the Leicester fans saying whooooo when the announcer mentioned Mabizela!.... What a goal! what a statement I thought.

Paul Walsh when I was a kid, then later it got worse. Alton Thelwell - thought he would make it with us.

Michael Brown. Back when our midfeild wa sabsolute dog sh!t (Redknapp jnr put in some of the worst centre mid displays I have ever seen at the Lane, you think Jenas is bad, jebus, you should have seen Jamie) Brown would fly round the pitch puttin the tackles for the whole midfield. His ability is not up there with the current crop, and he'd kill for the vision of say the Hudd, but he more than made up with it with his passion, running and tackling. Enjoyed his spell at the Lane thoroughly.

The other is Teemu. TEEEEEEEEMMMUuuuuuuuuuuuuu. He's a Yid, he played with the passion, he gave to the Goons and Chelski and although he wasnt the most mobile, he could do everything well. If he never had persistant injuries and had another yard or 5 of pace he would have become a massive hero at our club.

Also, I once called up the Sky Sports football phone in when Rob Mcafree (sp?) was doing it (I started it with "Evening Rob" as if he was my mate!) and ranted about our poor midfield with the exception of Michael Brown. Dave Bessent agreed with me. Proud moment to have massive permed Dave agree with me.

Gary Doherty and Mauricio Taricco. Two players that, for their faults, fought for our shirt and put themselves on the line for us all the time.

Postiga. I was still adamant that he was the Batistuta reincarnated even after turning in another lifeless performance. Forget the amount of times I defended him in pubs. Then the **** scored against Engalnd in the Euros.

Ginger pele as well. Still wish he was here. Back in the the dark old days when we used to play him up front....

Michael Brown & Tarricco for me. I've always rated the fighters in the squad - What's a car worth without an engine...

....well based on fans expectations, that was like putting a morris minor engine in an aston martin!!

Liked Tarricco, Brown was a bit of a nobber.

Tarricco for me. Just like Sc's very own Kendall, he could start a fight with his own shadow.

I wouldn't consider Davids as an unusual favourite. He is a ledge and i'm so glad he graced our shirt. I wish we had someone like him this season. That leadership is sorely missed in midfield.
