A translation of the full interview in the Bulgarian press:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Journalists: Yesterday, for the match with Middlesborough you were left on the bench. What could be the reason for this, are you not in form, or it’s because you want to join Man United?
Berbatov: It is a decision of the coach, I cannot comment his decisions... there are lot of matches to come,it was just the first of them.
Journalists: You didn’t look happy at the bench...
Berbatov: You would say so, even if I laughed. We are all people and have our emotions, I can’t smile all the time like an idiot! It’s normal to look unhappy when the things go wrong, to smile when it’s OK, so let’s give a break, it’s getting ridiculous already.
Journalists: You have already stated what you want?
Berbatov: What I want. Here is my manager, ask him for it, I can talk only about the national team.

Some questions about the friendly with Bosnia,

Journalists: You are under big pressure, all these rumours etc...
Berbatov: You won’t hear me complaint... if I do, I do it to my family or to my closest.
Journalists: What are your relations with the coach and the teammates?
Berbatov: I could say only good things about them, from the day I came... all of them are complete professionals.
Journalists: Despite your wish to leave?
Berbatov: I say it again, all of them are professionals, although everyone is different...
Journalists: How does team look to you without Keane, maybe also without you in the future?
Berbatov: The worst thing is when a club depends on one player, there are 11 players on the pitch, 7more on the bench, football is a team sport. There are new players, there is a very good coach. If he will be listened, everything will be good.

Some questions about Keane ([bluba lu] doesn’t hear good),

Berbatov: I wished him good luck, he is a good guy and we had a very good understanding on the pitch, but everything has its end...
There is the main question that misses on the tape – something about the future
Berbatov: I’m all the time a Tottenham player. I don’t think somebody should be angry with other who tries to follow his dreams and to realize his ambitions.I have always tried to realize them.
Journalists: What is the fans’ reaction on the fact that the biggest star of the club wants to leave the team for Man United?
Berbatov: I’m not a star... the team has 20 players, there is a lot of players who are younger than I am. I observe them, they will develop and will be better than me, and wish them luck. I had the luck to become a Tottenham player, had two good seasons, hope there
will not be injuries. Whether I’m the biggest star or not, it doesn’t matter. Yesterday I was on the bench, unfortunately we lost, I hope the next match we win.

thats the most insightful thing i've read about Berba recently, the 'being allowed to follow the dream' quotes were clearly reported wrongly in the english media. the wat i read it, it sounded more like he was referring to Keane's dream than his own.

i'm convinced he's staying this transfer window

I think Berba has been totally misconstrued this transfer window. He doesnt seem unhappy. I honesly dont think he minds staying.

Nope, he was talking about himself and he was referring to the fans being angry with him.

"I’m all the time a Tottenham player. I don’t think somebody should be angry with other who tries to follow his dreams and to realize his ambitions.I have always tried to realize them"

We have to be careful that in our hope for him to stay that we are not looking for things that are not there.

The only thing that should be giving us hope should be Man Utd's reluctance to come back with an increased bid. If the window closes and he is still here then we have to hope that it kick starts him back into action and not have the opposite efect of pissing him off totally.

I take it Berb meant listened to by the management rather than the players .

Wouldn't surprise me if Ramos has already concluded he is wasting his time with our board and is only doing it for the money .

Wouldn't surprise me if Berbatov had already concluded the same thing.

That's my youtube account, and the gist of what he said was posted in the info section, which I got from translations on the Berbatov thread in the Transfer Rumours Forum here.

That thread has all the latest information and translations.

I really hope he stays, this guy staying will be the difference in what will be a good team and a great team this season.

Excellent post, and I totally agree.

Though I feel if MU don't increase their bid, then Barca may become players in this transfer saga.

+ cover for Ledley + a replacement for Carrick + a replacement for Keane could make it a great team .

FFS, some people have short memories.

This bloke has sulked here since the BMJ days. He is just a taller version of small pointy bloke and he wants to go.

Levy, take the 25 million quid and go buy a striker who wants to wear the shirt. We are in grave danger of being in the same place as last year after 4 games.

I just hope that lightning doesn't hit us again on Saturday against Sunderland with all this transfer stand-off shite.

We should have called MUFC's bluff 3 yonks ago when the 'tap up' happened and told them that any deal was off unless concluded within 24 hours.

This is likely to carry over to January now.

Message over.

Yet he scored 20 odd goals for us plus lots of assists. I can surely live with that.

I, for 1, would be more than happy to see this drama played out in January as I think we'd have a shedload of contributions from Berbs under our belt (and the accompanying points) and no matter who ManU signs between now and then, they'd still be offering the same 20-25m that they are now b/c they will be behind chelski and will need reinforcements.

And if our squad comes together and ManU is not such a sure trophy winner (domestically or in Europe), then maybe Barbs can hang out for another 5 months 'til he's just 28.
