Although a very large pinch is needed with this.......can the Mods issue infractions to anyone using the word s**t during the transfer window!

I think Richards would be a good signing, he's not as good defensively as Charlie but I do think he would offer a lot more going forward, especially when it comes to moving forward with the ball at his feet.

I think long term he is going to be a central defender. We don't need another right back as we have 4 already (Corluka, Hutton, and the 2 kyles from sheffield)

Cant see the value in this signing. If he is going to improve he will need games. Is he going to get ahead of Dawson, Bassong, King and Woodgate??? No. He isnt going to get ahead of Corluka at right back, nor Hutton if he is at the club, and would harm Naughton's progress whatever. And would cost a bomb.

I have it from a very very good and reliable source that this is the case. I don't want him anywhere near our club.

The above has been spot on with most city ITK.

No doubt he's got more potential than any of Spurs' RB/CB at present - except for an injury-free King.
Corluka has plenty of skills etc but totally lack pace so he will never pose a danger going forward (except on set-balls) unfortunately.
But his attitude sucks it seems. But that was the case of Glenn Johnson as well in his last season at Chelski.
Well, whatever decision Harry takes....let's hope for the best. Oh, that was a bit daft but hard to read into the future...

Supposed to have a drink problem, would be a bad influence on the likes of Lennon and Hudd if that is the case, no thanks

21....going on 12.

Remember the position we are in at the moment. We have Corluka, a young and experienced international fullback. We have Hutton, also a fairly young and international (although Scotland isnt Croatia) fullback. We have Naughton and Walker, both prospects who we have on the books gaining experience in the Championship, I think they are also U21 or U18 international (Correct me if im wrong)

Richards does not provide any immediate improvement to our team currently sat 4th chasing champions league spots. Will he provide the improvement in the future? Maybe, but it will be at the detriment to Naughton and Walker who arguably would also improve and Corluka who is also young enough to still improve also.

Most defenders dont mature until they reach 26 or 27 so why not get the best of Corluka and integrate our youth players rather than spanking another 15mill on a player that will lose value and be sold on within 18 months. I prefer not to.

for all those who say Corluka has a lack of pace, i have seen him play most of the Premierships left wingers and I have only seen him uncomfortable against one player (A Young). I ask why his "lack of pace hasnt been shown up before". It is also arguable that one of the league most consistent fullbacks over the last 15 years, Gary Neville, playing in the most succesful team in the league, is devoid of any pace whatsoever - how does that work?

I think you might be confusing him with Michael Johnson who does have a drink problem. He is no barred from the large casino in Manchester for threatening staff along with his scally mates.

A friend / business acquaintance was ITK on City admittedly under previous regime and he said that Richards had "lifestyle issues" that were affecting his game so I took that to mean a drink problem

Plus during the summer Richards got so drunk he thought he had swine flu when infact it was alcoholic poisoning, even if on a summer break from football a player should not let himself go to that extent

Richards has potential and is still young but he does not bring anything new that we don't already have cover for, we have enough right backs to field a whole team, we have more than adequate cover at centre back, he would rot on the bench so he might as well rot on the City bench for a lot more money

Not so. Two fully-fit CBs, Dawson and Bassong. Then there's King and Woody, and we can't rely on maintaining their fitness to cover an injury.
Then there's Hudd and Corluka, who play out of position to cover, and are needed in their own positions.

We are badly in need of centre back cover.

Quite agree re Corluka. I can't see this 'lack of pace'. He is not the fastest but is definitely not slow. As for all this 'he can't get forward', there must be some other player almost scoring against West Ham with a header and charging up the right with Lennon and sometimes even overlapping. Quality player who after his debut against Young has barely put a foot wrong. He's calm in possession, good passer, good tackler, strong in the air, good going forward. If he was really quick he'd have everything. Sadly, Glenn Johnson is really quick and cannot defend to save his life.
