So what are we signing? a striker? a winger? or a AM?

think he's all of these. will provide great cover. i'm all for it esp. as its going to be cheap. Just need a CB now. wouldn't say no to a prolific goalscorer too....

Whatever he is, and whatever he's done in the past - more recently for Barca and Monaca - it has to be a clean slate for him and us as fans who will hopefully back the move. He's had an awful time at Monaco, and didn't score too many for Barcelona either. Here's hoping Harry can find a position that suits him.

Onwards and upwards. Could be a very astute signing, or a very stupid one. Either way, it's a loan deal for 6 months. Win.

I am thinking (hoping) he plays the number 10 role for us. He has good strength and touch so should set up plenty for Defoe. Also he is good in the air, and with teh amount of goals from set peices could be an asset.

And it pisses of Wet Sham

Haha, yes.

He's a very good link up player, arguably better than what we have. Ok, he's not the quickest by some margin, but he has experience and knows the Premiership pretty well, too.

I'm hoping it turns out very nice. Harry said in The Sun that they've been talking about it for a couple of weeks now, so he and Levy must have known exactly what they were doing.

We're getting someone who is very good with his back to goal. Someone who will drop into the whole behind the striker, he's strong on the ball, has a good football brain, and is good in the air. I think he'll work great with Modric, Lennon and Defoe playing off him. My only concern for the imediate future is Lennons injury. Without him i think we'll lack a bit of pace going forward. Which means we need to make space for Defoe to work in. I hope things dont get too narrow in attack for us. But if Bentley plays, at least he gives us the width. And with Bale operating down the left, we might just open the pitch enough for Gudjohnson to work in. Although i'm guessing he'll more likely be backup for now at least.

I'll give a chance. In Harry we trust!

Good buy. Harry is good at getting the best out of players, and Gudjohnsen has a lot of ability to offer our team. He's a 31 year old who's never relied on pace, he is good in the air, technically excellent, and links up the play well.

He'll need a few games to re-familiarise himself with the pace of the Premier League, but I think he'll be an ideal foil for Defoe when he gets himself fit.

A good signing.

Quite happy about this. EG is an experianced, quality player who has won things and played in big games. If the reports are true that it's a loan deal with Monaco picking up a large part of his wages, then it's a win win situation as far as i can see.

My question was not meant to be sarcastic. It was more of a where will he play? I will have my views and say I don't want this or that player but what ever player we sign will get my full support

id see him as a berba type player. an intelligent forward who can link up and bring the best out in keano.

I don't see him playing with Keane. They are too similar IMO, both "in-the-hole", second striker type players. If they played together we'd have no-one leading the line. If he is going to bring the best out of Keano then it will be Robbie being forced to up his game now he has further competition for a place on the pitch.

I do believe he's also younger than RVN.

He is like Teddy, an all round striker.

If we can get him, it would be a great signing. Him and Defoe would be the first choice forwards.

I for one and made up with this. Premiership experience at the top level. Knows how to win things, can install that winning mentality that we need for the final push for that holy grail in the business end of the season.
