I just don't see EG having been brought in to allow RK to go. EG's loan may be a good deal for us, but signing him would not be. Whilst we could meet a transfer fee, and permanent move would have to be on the basis that another club pays some of EG's salary or he takes a serious pay cut. I just don't see that happening so when EG buggers off at the end of the season we'd only be left with Defoe, Crouch and Pav and out of those three, only Defoe is a very good player. It just doesn't make sense that we'd let Keane go.

i said in the summer if we wer going to get rid of a striker it should be keane

keane doesn't work well with defoe or crouch - so it's best he goes and we get someone in with pace and power like Beckford - it's probably too late now tho

i really hope this is your new running joke:stupid:

We needed to offload a striker even before Gudjohnson came in. Keane hasnt looked sharp ever since he came back and has not created a link with any of the other strikers or the midfield.

However I do think he works hard, he does cover midfielders when they get beyond the strikers, and does offer us something different to the other strikers (Eidur's arrival may have changed that now though)

Its a strange one. 9 mill is probably a good fee, but the thought of Crouch playing every week scares the crap out of me.

no it's not - i'm not saying we could get beckford - but someone like him - and if it was him it'd be really good - if the right price etc etc
thanks for the emoticon BTW :)
