Would rather not. Decent enough footballer but just doesn't score. Besides, Lazio spent a shitload on him last summer.

Yeah they did, but if they drop into Serie B they will be in no position to turn down offers for him. But then i suppose one has to ask why they're in the position they are, is it partly down to Zarate? As a team they've only scored 22 goals in 28 games. Defoe's scored 17 in 27 in the EPL.

He's still only 22. Just look at Kalinic, plenty of potential but still needs time, he's 22 also. I guess it depends if we want a young 4th striker, or if we're going to be in the market for a top class 1st choice partner for Defoe.

I've only seen Zarate from his brief spell at Birmingham. He looked a promising player, but then so did Zaki early on at Wigan. Seems a bit of a risk, but if we have 3 quality forwards already for next season, then it could be worth taking.

I'd like to see how Pavlyuchenko finishes the season. If he can make the number 9 shirt his own, then i see him and Defoe as a potential 1st choice strike partnership. Then either one of Gudjohnsen and Crouch as 3rd choice. Leaving room for a young hungry 4th striker.

He looked good when he was at Birmingham but I haven't seen him play since

Are you forgetting one Robbie Keane?

Where will he go? As I understand it Celtic can't afford him.

I am confused by the ITK who is asking and who is answering or is that just how the scout puts his itk?

I see Keane possibly going to Villa. If we go back in for Young in the summer, he may be used as bait. But i don't think he'll come back unless he is certain of 1st team football. I don't think he'll get that next season, and if he can get regular first team football at another good Premier League club, i expect him to leave.

Just to note, i would love the old Robbie back. Sadly i have my doubts.

The only player to take from Villa is Milner, that will never happen. I can see Keane back at Spurs until Jan next season but i do think we will bring in a striker, CM (Sandro?) and a GK if Cudicini doesn't sign a new deal. Is Zarete the right man? I can't say having not seen enough of him.

I think Zarate is very much in the Taarabt mould. Exceptional skill but certainly not a team player. He'd rather go past 3 players than play a square ball for someone else to score in an open goal.

I think we should be looking at someone in the Drogba mould. Strong, fast and will destroy the defender.

Mario Mandzukic (Zagreb) could be the man in the Drogba mould; or Edison Cavani (Palermo); both linked.

The player in the Drogba mould we should be after is Romelu Lukaku.
But i think you are right that Harry will go after somebody like Mandzukic

Lukaku is a beast. Almost helped Anderlecht get past Hamburg last night. The sky is the limit with him.

Mandzukic is not "in the Drogba mould." He's somewhat similar to Pavlyuchenko with a little bit more Olic to him (in terms of chasing down defenders).

Oh I think they could hold out for a King's ransom for Lukaku. The cat's out of the bag. He even debuted for the Belgium NT last month.
