People saying that it was a bullet dodged are over looking the fact that LVG only does well at relatively small clubs
He did well at Ajax(which is a big club but in relation to the CL clubs, is tiny) and won the CL
He did ok at barca before it turning a bit sour but had a great legacy
He did poor with a great Netherlands team that included Davids, Seedorf, Kluivert, Bergkamp, Van Nistelrooy and etc.
He did terrible with Barcelona but had a great legacy
He was brilliant at AZ
He was did ok at Bayern but has a great legacy
He was never going to do be great at united, he simply isn't a big team manager however he does great with youth and is arguably one of the best
He can take players straight from the academy and get them playing well at a high level and I don't think I can think of another manager who can do that
Man Utd academy is lightyears behind us but he has a good effect with some of their players like Rashford, Lingaard(who isn't good), Fosu-Mensah, Borthwick-Johnson and etc.
The diet version of your post
Did well with one of the greatest youth development teams of the century
Sacked by Barcelona
Sacked by Holland
Sacked by Barcelona
Did ok with AZ
Sacked by Bayern
