Yes Dembele at Celtic, a player who also scored 3 goals in 6 CL games, who was one of the top scorers in the Championship the season before and has scored 4 goals in 5 games for the French U21, that one.

As for products from the Scottish leagues, well firstly Dembele didn't make his name there and secondarily Celtic has yielded the likes of Wynnama and Van Dyk in recent seasons so it is hardly a club that is developing dross at present is it?

Given that our scouts recommended Dembele previously I don't quite understand the logic of going with their opinion over mine but hey oh.

Because they do it in Scotland and the Championship doesn't guarantee anything.

He was 8th top scorer in the Championship with 22 goals, the leading scorer got 35, shows how poor both leagues are.

There has been plenty of players from both leagues that failed in the premier

Who said anything about guarantees? No player represents that. Soldaldo was one of the best scorers in Spain and was abysmal for us, Janssen flopped despite finfishing the top scorer in Holland. The key is finding the right fit and I think Dembele fits that profile given his age, scoring record and successes in other areas of the British game.

so we should of taken a risk on a player that you believe fits our system, yet Fulham didn't play it, and as has been mentioned concerns in a medical (he missed a lot of game at the back end) perhaps that's why Celtic got him so cheap plus going to Celtic he had guaranteed medals and 1st team football, something he wouldn't of got with us

Plus he's missed a chunk of games for Celtic due to niggling injuries. Talented yes, made of candy floss yes. Poor mans Sturridge.

Where did I say he fits our system? I said his profile fits our transfer profile, young, talented, sell on etc. As for his fee, welll that was due to him running his contract down, nothing else. Celtic had to pay the statutory compensation for a player that age. Again there were lots of rumours surrounding him, none of us know for sure.

They're more than rumours though. We had ITK saying it.

We had ITK saying at the time he had signed. We get conflicting rumours all the time, no big deal.

ITK that he wouldn't pass a medical. The fact he's missed 11 games this year alone should set off alarm bells.

Kane missed 16 games this years should be worried? if Dembele is such a health concern it begs the question why he seems to gaining a lot of interest from a number of clubs.

the bolded as good as says it. he is only 2 years younger than Janssen, who had a great 1st season in top flight football and doing it on the international stage, which fits our profile too. because he never hit the ground running only having 7 starts, and very early after not having a full preseason, and then only playing bit parts for us.

as you admit there are no guarantees, Dembele wasn't guaranteed to do any better and if he had fitness issues it would of made him a bigger risk as cover for Kane

Those clubs haven't given him a medical.

But Celtic did and he passed.

If there were any issues with a player such a failed medical then it is almost certain that most clubs would know about it. If he has failed one before it didn't stop Celtic looking at him and it hasn't stopped others

Kane is proven in the premier league. Dembele has only played in the championship and in the Mickey Mouse Scottish top flight. Costa is 'apparently' receiving a lot of interest yet he's got a dodgy knee, Bale's constantly linked with a world record move to Manure yet he's pretty injury prone these days... media links to players is to primarily sell papers. Look at us, we've been linked with loads of players and had to put up with various reports that our 1st eleven pretty much want to leave... all dismissed/shot down by ITK.

Apart from the sentence that you convinentiely forget to bold which mentioned his age, talent and past experience.

As for Janssen, well his first season in English football was pretty much a disaster and regardless of his age I have seen nothing to suggest he has the attributes to succeed at this level. And I really don't understand this suggestion about him not having a preason, he signed for us on July the 12th a month before the season started. He had more time than most signings at most Pl clubs. If a player has failed at a club to the extent Janssen then for me undoubtedly the biggest risk for the club would be to retain such a player.

Apologies I don't see the point being made with any of that.

The supposed injuries to those players cannot be that serious if club would be willing to spend such sums on the them.

My point is the same would apply with Dembele as well . And the pint was that him missing 11 games last season really doesn't mean that much.

what past experience did he have in the PL? that's why i left that, and i mentioned age in my previous post.

he might of joined on the 12th but was too late to join up with our trip to OZ

I didn't say PL I said In the British game as. He has experience in the English Lower leagues and well as the Scottish league. That's a good grounding for a 20 year old.

As for Janssen, eel I don't think a tour half way round the world would have impacted him that much.
