Deserves it. Liverpool needed a keeper and a quality CB so they got the business done and reaped the rewards. Without VVD they'd be back in the chasing pack.

Sadly for me it is well deserved. He is a rolls royce of a centre back. Very calm, a leader and bloody hard to beat. Joe Gomez will improve immensely once back as his centre back partner.

Obviously decided way before butThe last few games have shown a really different slight negative side of Sterling. He’s had a brilliant season but gone off him a bit.
VvD has been outstanding all season. Hardly makes a mistake. For a defender to win the award speaks volumes.

Needs to do it again next season to justify the hype though. I think having three water carrying grafters in midfield in front of him helps.
