Is Chiriches in our future plans? No.

Other than League Cup and Europa we're not really fighting for much (we're not going to be top 4), so the absolutely having to have a bonafide Walker backup isn't required. Plus Chiriches makes 2 or 3 mistakes every time he plays regardless of position so he's not some solid backup anyway.

We need to move guys out now to pave way for summer deals. Else we're going to waste the summer window trying to sell them and have no time to bring anyone in.

Glad the players don't have your defeatist attitude

Don't get this one. Yedlin isn't ready and doubt will be until next season, Dier is woeful at RB, Vlad has been ok as backup RB. I'd even prefer him to Kaboul as 4th choice CB.
Unless we're looking to move on both Kaboul and Vlad and bring in a defender able to cover both CB and RB I'd be completely against this.

what makes u say Yedlin isn't ready and won't be any time soon? just a gut feeling? we already sold Naughton and if we were to sell Vlad I would think it would be because Poch believes he is or will be capable of playing this season

imo u don't keep a player around in order play them out of position because they aren't too bad at it

Other than the Cup Final, two chances of qualifying for ECL what else is there to play for?
Let's give up now and go home.

I wouldn't really call it defeatist.

I want the club to push on and reach new heights in the future. Not mire itself in mediocrity because we're too afraid to play a young kid like Kyle Walker-Peters, DeAndre Yedlin, or Eric Dier at RB and instead keep Chiriches here which results in a bloated squad and wage bill which prevents us from bringing in the youth and new talent that will push the club forward.

And Walker, Jan, Faz, Dier, Davies and Rose don't? Individually and collectively, our back four are some way short of Dixon, Adams, Winterburn and Monkeyhead. I can't see Vlad cutting it at CB in the EPL; he's good on the deck, strong in the tackle, and it should be possible to train him not to try to dribble the ball through half-a-dozen opposition players on the edge of our area, Timmy Toubs style, but he's always going to be a weak link in the air. At RB, though, he's surprised me, and is far preferable to Kaboul there—and chucking Yedlin in at the deep end probably isn't a brilliant idea, however great his potential. One hopes Walker will get through the rest of the season without mishap, but not having a capable deputy just strikes me as asking for trouble.

If we sell Chiriches then I will be pretty pissed off.
There is a reason why a team who are better than us want him.

He has so much potential.
Mate you've been banging the drum for him for quite a while now but lets call a spade a spade, he's bang average at best bordering on being shit he's not good enough in this lifetime or the next, let it go and let him go ffs

Unless we buy another Chiriches is better cover for 2 positions than Kaboul. Next season I don't think either will be at Spurs.

Play hardball Levy, don't sell.

I believe in Vlad, he's prone to mistakes but so are the others.

IMO he's a better attacking right back than Walker, he has the best tackling technique of any defender in the squad and can improve a lot. He just needs direction, whether he listens to the coaches is another thing.

I want to see him in holding midfield role.

If he can eradicate his tendency to over-complicate things (yes, we like to see the ball played out of defence, but there are times to play it out and times to whack it into Row Z), I can see this.

So you're basically saying he's our best defender. I think not.

I don't want him sold in January though. Big mistake IMO. The summer on the other hand...

If walker were out injured I would play Kaboul over Vlad. Vlad is just an outfield version of That famous keeper we had........Gomes.

Kaboul just needs game time. I agree with the poster who says CLEAR the decks now and then be clear at the end of season on targets as opposed to waiting to sell before we can buy. Out now would be Vlad, Lennon, Ade. End of season Capoue and Kaboul whom I like but seems to be out of favour.

He isn't our best defender but he certainly isn't the worst and doesn't deserve the stick he gets.

So how would you describe 'we're not going to be in the top 4' if it's not defeatist?
