<quote>
What is the outcome of a dislocated kneecap and meniscus injury?
Kneecap dislocation is a fairly common injury. It is painful and almost always requires medical attention, although sometimes the kneecap returns to its proper location unaided. The injury is seldom permanently disabling and usually heals completely.
Severe meniscus tears may be slow to heal (up to a year in some cases) but very small ones will heal within weeks. Occasionally, a torn meniscus does not heal completely, leaving the joint permanently weakened. There is then more chance of re-injuring the tissue, even during moderate exercise.</quote>

He was in Steve Stuantons first Rep Ireland full squad over 2 years ago. I sat next to him in the Paxton Road for an Atheltico pre-season game. It was shortly after the first injury and he was feelign positive about it. Said he prefered to sit with the fans while he could still get away with it profile wise. He even sang "we're the Paxton, we're the paxton . We're the Paxton Tottenham"

That he is such a fan of the club makes the news even worse.

Good luck to him. I hope he bounces back.

I trust he will have all the care he requires to make a full recovery - and that the club aren't going top stint on his medical bills.....

Terry was 'earmarked' as an even better prospect (potentially) than Mr Rooney (the other Irish wizard lol). There is still hope , I believe, of a new medical remedy to similar injuries.....but what good that is to young Terry, I know not. COYS!

Really sad. He really seemed to have that "extra". Hope he can recover enough to have a footballing career, though.

Friend of mine suffered the same injury playing cricket. Said it was the most painful thing he's ever experienced (he was absolutely screaming his head off for a few seconds, and he's no pussy). Forced him to stop bowling altogether and every other aspect of his game has suffered, to the point where he quit playing.

Hopefully he will get a payout from the Footballers Union or an insurance job, to start him off in his future life.

My sons school and youth team mate was lucky to get onto Lutons books but he was forced to retire really young but got some dosh (no real consolation but it helps)

Very sad! To go from wonderkid to unemployed in 2 years, he must be devastated!

There is a chance that he may with complete rest and time to heal recover to such an extent that a club somehwhere will give him a chance.

If he has the talent hopefully he can still make it.

Poor lad!
