At times we think,
" For god sake, 2-0 up and typical spurs throw it away 2-2 90th min, If arry had done this or done that we would of won"

We also think
" he wont take us to the next level, hes not tactically aware"

At the end of the day what is the next level for us. Its not like we have won a shed load of titles like liverpool, gone on a huge downward spiral and havent got our league back. We say about this " next level " but really there isnt a next level for us. If harry finishs 5th he has improved. We were a bloody state when he took over, we ended up 8th. We talk about the next level as if we have been stuck in a hole for years trying to get to fourth. We havent though, we have been involved in plenty of relegation scraps and mid table mediorcitys that this next level was a distant dream. Harry has already taken us to the next level, the one we were on a few years back but shuffled around and were back to our normal selves. The only real big level we can hit is the title and we aint going to get that till fergie retires.

I also thought, harry is truly a superb manager, He took west ham to 5th! West ham who are they, they have won stuff all and really are a nothing club. He took pompey another nothing club to a top half premier league club. An fa.cup medal which we had been desperate to win for years. He had the likes of Diarra, muntari, james, kranjacar, johnson, defoe, some top class talent he brang to that club.

This seems like a load of drool but im pointing out that despite our great season to date even if we dont finish 4th are progress is superb. Harrys is a superb manager, his pompey team is like ours and im not embarrsed to say that because he built a superb team there.

So i dont want to hear anymore of this " harry cant take us to the next level" talk because he has, he has taken us away from relegation scraps and i feel if we did finish 4th we are in some very very safe and shrewd hands. He isnt finished yet and nor are spurs. I can see a solid premierleague side for years to come under harry. And if fans arent happy with solid finishs then so be it, wev never been a title winning side year in year out, so lets be happy with a decade of being known on the football map instead of some of the crap wev had for years! COYSSSSS

Look at some of the dross we could of had, fat sam, hughes, mancini even more continetial approach rubbish. We are lucky to have an englishman who knows his football and knows the league. We even play great football. Levy wouldnt dare let him near the club coffers!

I have to admit, he is passing the ole Gibbsy test so far. When we had a blip a month ago, I stated this is the TRUE start to Harrys management at Spurs. Because Spurs do tend to roll over and self destruct.

The "old Spurs" let down Jol, and then Ramos. They tried to let down Harry but he was having none of it!

Respect.

Think harry is the first manager to take no crap when it comes to player poor attitudes and high profile life styles at spurs for many a year.

He's doing okay, I said at the start of the season I will judge him at the end, and whilst we normally have had our end of season party by this time of the year, we haven't finished yet.

Bump this thread in May.

Very good post and wholeheartedly agree.

I was chuffed to bits when we got him as our manager. Have admired him since he was at West Ham helping to bring through the likes of Rio, Carrick, Lampard, Joe Cole and Defoe.

I can appreciate he isnt everyone's cup of tea, but what he has done in such a short space of time after our recent self-destruction is pretty incredible. I like his no nonsense style because thats how highly paid young men need to be managed. He has stamped his authority on our wonderful club and he takes no prisoners, nor tolerates any passengers. Thats a good ethos to have at a football club in my book, and can only bode well for the long term.

From a relegation battle and playing awful football game in game out, to challenging for a CL place with 8 games to go and playing some good football with what seems a good team spirit is a pretty good turnaround in just over a year.

Well said by you and the OP. Have some rep.

I have to admit that I was not Harry's biggest fan but he has proven me wrong and as long as we have Levy balancing him out Spurs can go very far with Harry in charge. COYS!!!

Disagee mate

I feel even if we get knocked out tomorrow and finish 5th...its been a fantastic season. Harry has assembled a genuine 4th place sqaud, this squad could actually compete in the CL (not much but it would be competitive)

We play a great open game, we finally have some bite in our side too.

Its happy days as far as im concerned, I think anyone who doesn't rate Harry by now is letting maybe personal feelings or lilywhite-tinted specs get in the way of our best season in ages, 4th place and a fa cup 1/4 fnal possibly a semi...maybe even win it.

In Harry I trust...not always something I thought I would say...but he has made us a genuine top side now

Arry does deserve credit for the way his got the best out of players such as Huddlestone vastly improved IMO, Dawson Modric Defoe and for buying a player like Wilson Palacios what a buy that was. Arry's also got us winning at hostile places like Stoke, did not see that one coming our away record has been good hopefully we can improve our record agaisnt the top 3 (would love to beat Man Utd at Old Trafford)

What I would say though about Arry is to think about formations and tactical changes against savvy teams and not the ole long ball to Crouch.

but well done, keep up the good work

I think this is a different one to really judge him on. Last season, we had a very good record against the top 4 and actually got more points against them than Man U! This season we have played them when we were missing our (then) most influential player in Modric and still trying to keep Keane in the team and Harry has tried to keep the side balanced. When we played the scum we were missing Lennon and Defoe as well.

I'm not saying that Harry could sometimes do with changing things a bit in terms of formation, but when our first 11 is fit and playing I would go into any game anywhere with the belief that we could win.

I personally was not a fan, but credit where credit is due, his record since taking over is nothing short of unbelievable. This season we have dealt with a sticky patch of form, the loss of almost all of our key players and yet we are still winning.

It actually occurred to me the other day, had we hung on v Everton, got what we deserved against Stoke, Villa and wolves, we'd be in the title race!

We're going to get 4th because we are the 4th best team in the league!

harry doesnt get near enough credit for how he has transformed us.

there are a few reasons i think for this.

1/.hes wide boy image that wont go away, especially with all the pompey flak flying around.
2/hes hammers connection.
3/being spurs fans, and seen us fuck so many times, maybe we are afraid to actually believe that we are turning into a top side, and that harry wont let us down,
(soooooo many false dawns)

but i agree that whatever happens this season...
harry and his gang of coaches, have given us a season to be proud of
and given us our pride back...not long ago we were on the floor.

well done 'arry!

I was never a fan of his and did not want him near our club. I must however eat humble pie and say he has done much more to the club than I thought he was capable of. However, in my opinion there are still concerns, for example giving other players a chance when the opportunity is there to do so. Again he might prove to have done the correct thing come the end of the season. He also needs to temper his reuteric with the media, again my opinion.

Saying that he has proved me wrong and while I am not saying that there are not better managers that we could have attracted, based on what he has done so far I am happy for him to be given several seasons to make us a top 4 club or even Premiership Champions, after all he has earned it!

He has done a great job, he has reassembled a squad capable of challenging the top4 by bringing back a few players and addressing key areas (Palacios, Krancjar, Bassong and Gudjohnsen all have been great signings); his coaching staff are responsible for improving players such as Gomes, Bale, Modric, Dawson, BAE and Lennon no end, and he has found players best positions. We are playing attractive football in the main part and are slowly making some of the big boys worry

I was having chats with liverpool fans. They thought that the contenders for 4th cant be that great because none of them have pulled away.

Torres fit the whole season theyd of been title contenders. I said if we had a fully fit king and woodgate centre back the whole season we would be 4th sewn up. In fact i think we could of progressed even further if we had a fully fit team throughout and in the big games.

I was laughed off that even if we do get the UCL then are squad isnt a uefa champs league one. I said maybe not in your eyes but we can always sign players in the summer because of our 4th place finish and the fact are gaffer knows what he wants.

Then we compared teams and i just thought wow, Harry has assembled a superb team. Where you look at benitez who has bought some aboslute crap, riera, babel, aquilinna, skrtal decent players on paper but overpriced and underperforming.

Harry bought in bassong, palacios, niko, crouchy, eidur and consistently startd to play Thudd and turned BAE into something superior to what we thought. I cant give him any more credit. People say harry hasnt won enough in his career but you get better with experience. He is building us foundations for the future and with our new stadium Its going to be a superb decade for us.

Liverpool fans are smug gits who live in a fantasy world. Some of my best friends are Liverpool fans and I hate them. Spurs will show them the light.
