It seems we're not interested but surely this would be a great investment if only for a resale profit?

Yeah I wish we'd take the option. Seeing as we don't really seem to have an interest in maintaining relations with Swindon anyway, no sense in not triggering it to turn around and sell him for a neat 2m for the profit, especially if he generates real interest this summer.

LOL, why would he sign back for us just so we can make a profit? Think about it guys, not happening.

Good player he would fit in well, what about kassim I know we don't have a buy back on him but he is doing really well.

Exactly. And by profit people only imagine sale value. No-one thinks about who's going to pay his wages while he's on our books. I like Luongo. Think he's got a future. Just don't think it's in the prem or with us for that matter.

Knowing Levy, I'd say we already have a 40 percent sell-on clause.

It is actually something like that as I recall. Pretty sure it was to do with the number of loan players being reached at the time and Swindon needed to get someone else in.

Wouldn't be surprised if he, Fryers and Veljkovic are all with Tim at Villa next season. Milos would probably be a loan though.

What makes you say the bit in bold? (I'm quite impressed with myself also as just managed to highlight it on my iPad, which I am still mastering for forum surfing lol).

Well we went from loaning what, five players to them last season to zero this one? Not saying we have any intent to be antagonistic toward them, just that it seems possible whatever connection we had last year may no longer be there.

The connection was Tim Sherwood, so yeah, I doubt we'll see mass loans to Swindon again.

I would hope we'd keep those ties going to some extent. I really doubt it will be to the extent it was when we loaned a handful of players to them. But, we've had players from our youth setup go there directly (Luongo, Byrne, Barthram, Obika) and some indirectly (Yaser Kasim). It seems like the players we are/have produced meet what they are looking for in terms of styles so if we can keep those ties strong it'd only benefit us in the long run. Also, with Swindon Town looking like having as good a shot as anyone to move up into the Championship, it could be an even more beneficial relationship.

We really dont have ties anymore to Swindon. The ties were through Sherwood

Oh I completely agree, maintaining that tie as any other would be entirely advantageous. But I was just pointing out it seems that the individual connection, which has since been pointed out to be Sherwood, no longer seems there.

The club I'd really like to see us further relations with is Brentford. Seem to play nice football and a similar lineup in a 4-2-3-1, and seem instructed to do a good amount of high pressing. With the rumors of the coach leaving at the of the season that may all change of course.

Good Lord, I know. I'm saying that since our players have gone there and had some success playing in their teams, it should be a natural fit to revisit loaning players there. If our players are good enough, they will want them. We don't need Dim Tim talking nonsense in their ears in order to secure loans.
