I know plenty of Spurs fans who have said they wouldn't bother getting on the waiting list because they knew how many were already on it. If we had a bigger stadium it would attract a lot more people than are currently accounted for by official figures.

I honestly think that if we had a 60,000 seater stadium this season, we'd be filling it most weeks. Of course if we slipped back into mid-table mediocrity, we'd probably struggle to get over 40,000.

I agree, I don't think a Europa League game is a particularly good indicator of attendance at a future stadium. It doesn't look good, though (especially when you take into account the fact that the club gave away a fair few tickets), and does suggest that the pricing policy for certain games needs to be looked at. Then again, 24,000 fans at an average of £30 a ticket beats 35,000 at £15.

The club have fucked this up - by including the first 2 cup games on the ST maybe that hamstrings dropping the price for subsequent Europa games? IF those first 2 cup games are sold at vastly reduced prices (£15 for example - which is what they should be) then wouldn't ST holders be within their rights to complain? After all ST prices have gone up...

How will Arsenal deal with this next year if they get Europa footy? They can't sell their current ST packages surely? (they pay for ALL league and cup games as part of the ST except CC games).

Prices should be £15 for adults and a £5 for kids - empty seats = wasted revenue and last nights game don't mean jack compared to Sunday.

But if the club insists on making the first 2 cup games part of the ST AND increasing the price each year how can they drop the prices?

This needs careful consideration before they sort out the new stadium because if we're not in the CL when it opens they haven't got a prayer of filling it at £30 a pop for Europa games...

See above. A two-thirds full stadium at an average £30 a ticket rakes in over £700k on the night, an almost-full one at £15 £500k (if I've done my sums right, which I may not have done this late). A full stadium, or £200k extra income?

In the short term yes - but factor in the additional sales on the night that come with a full house, programmes, food and drink, merchandise etc. and the long term benefits of getting lots of families and kids in - our fans of the future after all...

(also weren't kids a tenner last night?)

Steve, you know the Dear Leader will factor this stuff in, and factor it in far more comprehensively than we mere punters can.

I'm a Gold season ticket holder and have been for 10 years. Missed a handful of games in that time.
I haven't been to one Europa game this season. I don't go to reserve games so why should I start now?
The average reserve game gets around 5,000 fans watching so 24,000 is a result.
As soon as we start taking the games seriously and send out our first team then I will start going.
You cannot compare this to anything else.

Huerelho Gomes: Capped Brazilian Goalkeeper in the peak years of his career.

Kyle Walker: Our first choice right back and current England squad member.

Jake Livermore: Regular appearances this season, only option to play owing to injuries and not wanting to risk Kaboul.

Bassong: After Kaboul, the highest centre back in the pecking order currently available. Starter for Cameroon at the last World Cup.

Rose: Second choice left back perhaps, but highly rated and generally a good performer.

Lennon: England international of two World Cups, in his 7th season as our first choice right winger.

Sandro: Brazilian international and, when fit, probably first choice in our midfield.

Carroll: Highly rated youngster who is drawing praise from all quarters right now.

Giovani: Was a regular at Barcelona at a young age, has performed well in several international tournaments including a World Cup and scored a wonder goal in the recent Gold Cup final. loads of caps at international level.

Defoe: A regular, often a first choice, striker at our club since January 2004.

Pavlyuchenko: In the squad of the tournament after scoring many goals at the 2008 European Championships, in his fourth season at the club and a scorer of many vital goals to qualify for the Champions League.

Kaboul: French international centre back who has probably made himself first choice for us with his performances lately.

Ekotto: Cameroons first choice left back, one of the best left backs in the league if not Europe and definitely an integral part of our team.

Modric: Our best player who we refused £40m for in the summer.

Great reserve squad.

Do we need a new stadium - YES - are you mental???

Ok so there will be games where we won't sell out, and don't forget that it isn't just our fans that pay us for tickets, we get money from the away fans too. Quite honestly even if the new stadium is only at 90% capacity for half our games and at 60% for the other half, that's still an average turnout of 45,000 based on a 60k seater which is approx. a third more revenue that we currently receive.

Also the other major point is that our fan base (and the population as a whole) is ever increasing and in 10 years we'll be able to fill the stadium easier and in 50 years we'll be moaning that we now need a 100,000 seater stadium.

I only want to go the the more importnant league and proper cup games as i'm not a true fan. I'm embaressed that I have friends, family and a job away from football, and that takes up a considerable amount of my spare time and money.

If only I could be considered a true fan, by other people who want to talk about spurs.

There are other more important commitments in life other than Spurs; so don't feel bad about it.

I just can't afford it anymore and haven't been for a number of years. I was out of work with my health, and although I'm now working, there's a lot of extra stuff I now have to shell out for, so I'm not much better off. My youngest son (12) loves the mighty Yids, but for me to stand any chance of bringing him to the Lane, it'll cost me over £100 with transport, tickets and food. Not that I stand much chance of getting tickets without a membership, which to be honest I resent the idea of. Having to pay for the slightly increased possibility of buying tickets to the games no-one else wants to go to doesn't sit right with me.

So getting a 60,000 seater stadium would be fine by me, if there were a few games per year where you could just turn up and pay on the door, like I did when I was single and came year in year out in the 80's. Then I wouldn't feel so much like a second or third class fan for not being in a position to afford a season ticket or an expensive membership or two.

Do you honestly believe another 20,000 fans will come to the likes of Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn, Bolton, Stoke, West Brom.

I don't.

i would go to these games and others - in fact i would hope a bigger stadium would allow me and my son to become season ticket holders even at number 24k

People aren't happy that other people didn't go? lol get over yourselves, just who the fuck do you think you are?

Comes back to the old I'm a real fan because I stay to the final whistle and anybody who leaves before the end isn't fit to call themselves a supporter!

Such selfworth is pretty sick!

I'm not on the list as I can't see the point, however if they were available I would be buying 4 and there's probably loads of people like me!
