There's £100m+ of freak income there from Bale and Modric that I'd discount. Remove those and we'd still be no higher than mid-table for net spend, which is evidence of very good performance from the chairman. Best in the league is probably correct.

if we hadn't sold them then we wouldn't have spent 100m+ replacing them either so it makes no difference to the net spend figure. also if we're going to remove these "freak" sales then we have to do the same for others like suarez, sterling, torres, luiz, di maria, mata, carroll etc ...

But we spent the "Bale money"? Or am I missing something?

Edit: someone beat me to it.

Those are fair comments.

I want ENIC and Levy to stay as long as possible, scares me to think that the Fulham owner would buy us and rip the scouting team apart (all this is my thoughts after reading there scouting system and the fact Khan was interested in the club)

I said it on some other thread but what amazing amazing work from Dan Levy -http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/new-scheme/

From the dark days of the 90s where a fancy dribble or clever pass would be what we would consider highlights of a game in a dingy stadium that we, an ageing mismanaged team, more often than not lost - to these days. A world class training facility with a top youth team and a world class stadium all cleverly financed and integrated with local community development and initiatives. A coach fully tuned into the clubs objectives - particularly youth development. A team that has consistently finished 6 and above. A salute of gratitude and respect Mr. Levy from a fan who has seen the dark days.

A great interview - http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs-tv/features/daniel-levy-on-new-stadium-scheme/

We have the baldest chairman in the premier league that's for sure. Did I say baldest? I meant shortest.

Gush gush gush, oh Danny, fawn, fawn this is all textbook BSoDL…...:sneaky:

My issue with his loftiness is well documented. He fancies himself too much when it comes to the football side of things and i've always said he needs to stop sticking his podgy little fingers into affairs that he has little to no real expertise in. I've read reports that Levy has given Pochettino 'unprecedented' levels of control over the playing side and IMO its no coincidence that now he's done so, we're doing better. I've seen it said that he's been playing 'the long game', which made me laugh like a grand national winner about to get stuck across the kelly brook of the horsey world……….as if whats happening now the the culmination of some sort of grand master plan. Do me a favour.

I don't doubt there is some sort of master plan but Levy has lucked out within that (on the football side) because he's only now (seemingly) finally learned to step back and let the man tasked with job actually get on with it without his 'expertise' being thrown where it isn't needed. This master plan business is bollocks and i'm not having it. You can't tell me that intefering and having so much of a say in transfer policy, not the money, the actual who we signed was part of a 'plan', I cannot accept that him finally seeing that the serial sackings that were damaging the club were part of a plan. He's finally realised that he has to put a system in place, back the manager and let him have a certain amount of control, that's brilliant and credit to him for it but it weren't no Baldrick style cunning plan. He might be as short as Baldrick but he isn't as clever, if he were why didn't we sign a turnip in the summer? :woot:

The guy has his shortcomings (hehe) and if he has now recognised his limitations and acted on that then all well and good.

This is football, anything can happen and fair play to him, he's starting to win me over because he seems to finally be doing what i've always said he should be doing……..Let the manager manage and concentrate on the money side where his genius is unquestioned……….but the job isn't done yet.

Anyway, Levy obviously isn't the best chairman in the EPL, Jeremy Peace is. After all, he outlevy'd our man. (I had to throw that in to make the BSoDL choke on their sunday morning toast) :p

Just think in the future they'll probably be a statue of Levy outside the new stadium with bird shit all over its face.

The BSoDL win with the statue. The anti-Levy group win with the bird shit.

Personally I hope they use this facial expression for the statue:

It's a shame Levy and co didn't come in when Sugar did.

Two weeks back, Steve Perryman was interviewed by Danny Kelly @ talkSport . At the end of the 2 hour program, he lays into Alan Sugar & spoke about how bad an owner he was quoting few examples. It was an eye opener for me;

There's no denying that Levy has done an awesome job, especially on club's financing. That said, I have one big gripe regarding our transfer dealings. During many transfer negotiations, the spurs as a club picked up a very bad reputation league-wide. I was reading some discussion regarding Dembele2 transfer from Fulham forum, and this is what one person said:
I wouldn't sell Levy a packet of sweets. Can't stand him, nor his club. It would not surprise me one bit if this happened. Turn the players head and then change terms with us over the deal. We'll probably lose Dembele straight away for £1.00 more than we would have got from Monaco in summer.

Please stop dealing with Spurs....
Lyon chairman came out and said pretty much same things regarding Llorris transfer.

Also from West Brom forum, Southampton forum, and even manure forum etc. similar sentiments can be found. I realize that in business, you have to be really tough on negotiations. However, being tough on negotiation is one thing , but going back on your words after it was agreed on, that to me should be beneath what we should be doing as a club. I want Spurs be known as a club with integrity. That will make future dealing with other clubs easier too.
