The Daily Mail have compiled a league table of Premiership coaches in terms of goals scored in their careers and experience in English football, and we're top in both! Liverpool are bottom for experience which is pretty funny.

Before we all get too carried away, we are joined in these lofty heights with no less esteemed company than West Ham, Burnley, Portsmouth and Hull. So hopefully it's coincidental that experienced goalscoring coaches make for relegation material!

Yet the three best managers in the league in the last few years were far from prolific players. Just goes to show, one thing doesn't necessarily lead to another.

But if you take away Clive Allen's 49 goals in one season where are we...?

Don't though, I loved that season. Apart from how it ended.
