I think Rooney has a little bit of leeway with that cut, but when Sturridge pulled out you knew he'd be playing tonight. No way was he unfit for England.

Jesus.

England Doctor sent Sturridge home and he was gutted to be sent back to Liverpool as he has said himself many times and the journo's on Sunday Supplement who know the craic with the National team tbf. He didn't train after leaving England until Yesterday as he wasn't fit enough to, and, at his own admission, wasn't fully fit tonight but we had no alternative to him with Suarez out.

I wouldn't mind but this has been reported in all the papers and football media over the weekend culminating with Neville, an England Coach, confirming on MNF tonight he was sent home on Friday by England with "fluid on the knee/thigh" and therefore unfit.

But lets not let facts get in blah blah blah.......

Sturridge deserves criticisms for some things to do with his character, but shirking his national duties is not one of them.

except for 45 min vs Stoke i dont think Liverpool have looked very good this season, and some of their players are just so overhyped. Most Scousers would tell you Coutinho is the best #10 in the league and Lucas the best DM, but truth is they are pretty avarage and that Aspas guy is a complete donkey.

Sturridge and Suarez on the other hand is so dangerous though.

Seriously how pissed off would you be going from the joy of selling Shelvey to the utter despair of signing that Aspas who might struggle to get a game for the 'slug and Lettuce'?

I didn't see the post match, took me dog for piss, am only just watching the last bit of it now, how the fuck does Sturridge end up with MOTM ? He barely touched the ball all game. I'd have gone with the Pozuelo myself.

I quite like Rangel. I think he'd really suit our system.

Was very, very good IMO. Davies was good to.

Rangel is definitely someone I'd consider to.

Jamie Carragher was so out of his depth on that debate, trying to fire shots at Neville but Neville is too diplomatic these days, answered the question brilliantly and agreed with everything he said.

BTW The question was who would you rate the best out of Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes.
Scholes by lightyears. One of England's finest ever midfielders.

Just started a thread on this same point. Totally agree with Neville on the point and your opinion of Carragher being out of his depth.

That was a great little exchange between Neville and Carragher, I don't always agree with Neville and don't think he's the Oracle others do, but he put Carragher well and truly in his place when they were talking about who the best midfielder was out of Gerrard, Scholes and Lampard.

Another really interesting snippet came out when he said all Ferguson concentrated on in training was control of the ball. Just to touch on our discussions elsewhere about our new modus operandi.

It was almost embarrassing, Jamie said his piece and obviously went with a Gerrard, Lampard and Scholes order and then had the cheek to say and I paraphrase "Come on Gary, don't sit on the fence, say Scholes".

I agree, was also thinking Rangel would fit in very well with us, his runs and how he used the ball (in addition to his tackling) was good tonight. He got caught up the pitch a few times after long runs, but the midfielders and other defenders did their job in covering any holes well (as they would in our system).

Neville v Carragher is as one sided as that 2nd half, one knows the game inside out and the other one can't even understand himself!

I know it's only been a month but they need to give Carragher the boot, Neville is just destroying him and the UTD fans must be loving it. It's sort of sums up why UTD have been so good for so long and Liverpool so average for so long.

Lampard shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence as Gerrard & Scholes.

There was talk we were interested, wasn't there? Am glad we didn't go for him...

Fuck me.

You have wrote the poor lad off after watching him for, by your post time, 31 mins. That's not knee-jerk at all is it? If he had signed for you no doubt you would be preaching patience as its only his first game in a new country for a new team.

He could become the new Djimi Traore or become the best French CB since Blanc for all any of us know at this juncture, unless you have the ability to time travel to the future where he is now playing for Seattle Sounders with Djimi.

I haven't seen the football tonight. Are you honestly telling me Carragher thinks Lampard was better than Scholes?!!!

get that clown off now. funny how we never get luck like this against teams.

2 games, 2 penalties (1 against Palace very fortunate as Olly's ban will attest to), 2 wins. That's a little bit of good fortune surely? It all works itself out in time anyway.

Why apologise for him, I'd happily see every decent international we have fake an injury for two weeks every international break.

Fuck knows, if I was an English footballer, I'd fake injury rather than be associated with the stigma of playing for England.

I like you Toela. You are a pretty reasonable dude. But if you're going to actually page through threads in opposition forums looking for stuff to disagree with, you're going to lose your shit eventually. You are going to find a lot of things that bother you.

I remember when you registered on THTV you would do the same thing, and it eventually culminated in you having some sort of break down, saying you'd finish above us, and then getting banned.

Carragher made himself look like a complete muppet there. Thought he was doing well until he came out with that guff.

Neville tried to be diplomatic, but Scholes was better a player than either of them IMO. Not even a fucking contest really regarding Lampard.

Xavi even mentions Scholes. Not your typical English player, but the side should of been built around him. Makes your blood boil at the fuck wits who have been involved in managing England as well.

Did we deserve to win both games? A resounding yes I think.
