Not sure about overall figures, but last season Eriksen had more assists than anyone, including Ozil, in the whole of Europe.
I read an article that said that Ozil had the most assists in Europe over a period of 2 or 3 years

That wouldn't surprise me, but over last season and this season, Eriksen has more (and for a fraction of the price).

Bayern never went in for VDV. "Liverpool were interested, Bayern were never interested, but you have to have a good feeling and this manager gave me a good feeling and I am really happy to be going to Spurs."

In club competitions Özil had 24 assists

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/mesut-oezil/leistungsdaten/spieler_35664_2012.html

And Eriksen had 23

http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/christian-eriksen/leistungsdaten/spieler_69633_2012.html

But, I think Eriksen could become better. Seems to have a better work rate and desire to improve

He also wasn't passing to Ronaldo who finishes everything.

Yeah but come on, Dutch league..

Let's be fair here

If its anything like this forum, they need to combine the assists of Erikson, Ericksen, Erikssen etc.

(Don't buy this. If Ancelotti wanted to keep him he would have. He clearly gave his blessing for Ozil to go as he had brought in better players in Isco and Bale. I seem to remember only Ronaldo being up in arms about it too, and let's face it. Ronaldo likes anyone who will help Ronaldo further the career of the only person Ronaldo cares about, himself.)
Check above for the stats thing

As for Ancelotti wanting to keep him, he would of have, you are being very naive. He even had a go at the club for selling him
"I think we made a mistake when we gave him the possibility to leave the club." Ancelotti on ozil. He wanted him to stay and he has said himself before and after he left.

Ronaldo was pissed off about as were the spanish players as well. As for Isco, its debatable to say he is better as the person behind Ozil in the pecking order is now ahead of Isco as AM(di maria). Di Maria was dropped to play ozil when they went for a counter attacking 433.

Ozil forced a move through on the hope of going to Man Utd but they didnt want him it seems

I was talking about at madrid(not arsenal) but I am very happy with Eriksen and he was a bargain and its proven unfairly judged for playing in a poor league

After the quotes were published by AS, Madrid’s press relations chief, Carlos Carbajosa, issued a denial by text message.

“I think we made a mistake when we allowed [Ozil] to leave the club,” Ancelotti is quoted as saying.

“Either way, we have fantastic strikers but need reinforcements after Higuain’s departure.”

But Carbajosa reportedly told AS that the interview, said to have been held in Qatar when Madrid were preparing for a friendly with Ancelotti’s former club, Paris Saint-Germain, never happened.

“Ancelotti has not given an interview with Gulf News.

“He did not make any statements about Ozil.

“The coach’s thoughts on Ozil remain the same: Maximum respect for him, fully aware of his departure and he takes responsibility for it.

“He has answered every question on Ozil the same way. It lacks journalistic sense to think he would say otherwise now.

“Both the alleged interview and the content are false as the majority should have guessed.”

Like I said Real Madrid just wouldn't give the player the option to leave if Ancelotti wanted to keep him. Yes Ozil may have said fine i'm going then but the decision came from Ancelotti (as that quote backs up) in the first place as even without Ozil they have Ronaldo, Jese, Di Maria, Isco and Bale.

Fair enough I concede on that point but I don't think £42million was a cut price deal. Look at Mata, he was Chelsea's best player for two season and imo a better player than ozil but he went for less.(I don't think that was a cut price deal but Chelsea naming a high price a player that is 4th choice to a rival)

I agree it wasn't exactly cut price but I think that was more due to Arsenal's desperation than anything else. If they didn't make a big name signing there would have been 7 pissed off fans amongst all those foreign businessmen in their next game.
