I know this might sound bit crazy but maybe yesterday's defeat might be a good thing, had we won two or three nil then we would all be thinking our squad looks good and get all our hopes up about beating the scum and then get a hard gut wrenching thump down to earth. That team yesterday would get destroyed by the scum, at least now poch is angry and he will make those lazy shites work hard this week, he will hopefully realise we need to be powerful, disciplined, and work our socks off next week, I hope he plays fazio and stambouli, we will need three in centre of midfield so we don't get totally run off the park, our players need to realise that they actually have to work hard to win football matches and not just turn up. I might be clutching at straws but I really hope a shit day this weekend may actually give us a better hope of winning next week and a better season COYS

It seems your initial point is "good job we lost so I don't have high hopes for next week" before going on to explain that the defeat will give us a better chance of victory.

There is no such thing as a good defeat, every defeat no matter who to is painful as fuck

There is no silver lining to yesterday

My mate is an arsenal fan and willing to travel 100 miles on Saturday to come watch the game at mine. He's that confident arsenal will embarass us - given our last 4 games.

I tend to agree with him unfortunately. I think we currently have a very weak spine and this will get easily penetrated by Arsenals fast moving attack. For me I would change to a 433 and remove, Kaboul, Vlad, Dier, Dembele, Chadli & Adebayor from the team and replace them with Fazio, Verts, Naughton, Bentaleb, Stambouli & Soldado.

I'm definitely going to have a large punt on arsenal to win, at least that day will then have some reward!

Edit: Arse to win with -2 handicap paying 6/1 Woohoo

When the season ends and we fail to qualify for the UCL yet again this shameful defeat will go down as one of those
games where if we had nicked a point etc etc.

Happens every year, some glorious wins hopefully yet those pissant losses and draw sat home. Ah well.

We're going to have to face a number of Monday mornings like today, because we have a team that does not have any goals in it.. We must have the least potent attack in the Premier League.. It is damn right negligent to go into the season with Adebayor, Soldado and Kane as your only three so called strikers..

Not really... yesterday was down to the usual Spurs complacency. We regularly do it at home. Did it quite a bit under Harry and still got 4th.

I agree with the OP. Poch has now played a largely similar team in the league since QPR, and even in that match it wasn't particularly effective, just clinical in the easily handed opportunities. He will now be forced to make some changes, which is very much a good thing.

But this squad is the greatest Spurs squad of a generation and we didn't need any attacking signings .

I can see the phrase hindsight being warmed up already after a few weeks of the season, when in reality it was plain to see what we had wasn't good enough.

Yesterday we made the team who were bottom and totally lacking in confidence look like Bayern fucking Munich.

No goal threat at all from our pathetic attack, and no goal threat from our midfield, mixed with a comedy defence = recipe for disaster.

One week i think we are heading in the right direction and the next week we are playing like ''One Direction.''

The scum game will be painfull.

I think it is only a blessing in disguise for the "dim" fans who can't see the teams deficiencies when we are winning . The rest of us see how we smooth over the cracks even when we win .

A cheerful approach but when we lose to Arsenal it wont mean much.

At least yesterday should mean he wont play Chirches but it worries me that he picked him at all- good skills and reads the game well but weak, poor judgement and accident prone. At least one major rickett in each game and yesterday many. The goal game from another corner he needlessly gave away.

Not necessarily, by your thinking next week should be a "we're heading in the right direction" week:)
We actually are heading in the right direction but I just think alot of people expected too much from this season anyway, I don't expect much except improvement by the end of the season, my hopes are for next year and a loss next weekend won't bother me like it has done in the past.

Spoken like a real Spurs fan....''there's always next year''..:)

So long as DL keeps buying players the manager doesn't really fancy, ''next year'' will always be our motto.

My biggest worry about yesterdays result is goals. Yes there were some 'freak' results over the weekend, but although they lost Liverpool, Everton & Man Utd all managed to put the ball in the net. We managed one shot on target in 90 minutes!!!!

As I said in the match thread, I understand that we are a work in process, and I am not jumping on a Poch Out campaign, but are supposed to be adopting the MP philosophy of a high pressing game and yesterday seemed to be no different to our style 12 months ago.

I will give MP all the time to instill his philosophy, but for me to give him time he has go give me hope.

Not sure I agree with the correlations you make

We will do better against sides who want to beat us and we are playing away

I current problem is not being able to dictate the game at home or against lower position sides. I do not think that anybody thought WBA anything other than resolute

What's even more worrying is that is was our strongest attacking line up and we still looked so feeble.

The lack of pace and dynamism is attack is alarming, but nothing that many of us haven't been worried about for sometime.
