Because results and performances aren't the same thing.

You only have to go back 5 days to see what a bad performance and good result looks like. Well this was the opposite. We've dominated, haven't allowed them a single shot on target, but have lost thanks to a scrappy set piece, own goal in injury time, despite playing well.

Do you still agree with the notion that our mentality is fine and isn'

Why is our build-up play against bus-parkers so ponderous? We just tap it sideways until they get their players back into two neat lines of five and then try to dribble through them. The one attack that we zipped it about should have been a goal, except Lame-ela took a stupid touch instead of burying it first time. It has been the same all season vertonghen to sanchez to ericksen back to vertonghen then sanchez round and round and round.....

Anyone who honestly thinks we are going to get anymore than 2 pts vs Newcastle and Leicester on current form is genuinely deluded. Football is a game played in the mind and time after time we've proven that mentally we can't do it

Jesus, all this talk of "we're definitely finishing fifth". More melting than a firebombed candle factory!

If Chelsea lose just one of their games we only need one point to pip them to fourth. Can we just have a little perspective? Lots can yet happen in the final games.

have you seen the way we have been playing recently as well as how they have been playing?
i have more confidence in chelsea winning all 3 of there remaining games then us winning our two given the form of us and them

I couldn't care less about finishing third, let's hope Liverpool win tomorrow.

There's no difference between 3rd and 4th. There's a huge difference between 4th and 5th.

Anybody pointing to Kane scoring a couple since he's been back, you're the ones who are underestimating him not the people saying he should be rested because to think that Kanes worth is based on the goals scored stat is hugely missing the point. At his peak he offers the best hold up play in the league with the ability to play excellent passes and running stats for a striker which are second to none. There is absolutely 0 of that at the moment.

I love Poch but he has chosen a very bad time to kill the vibes. Ultimately the buck stops with Levy, but there seems to be a bad atmosphere around the club at the moment, and its Pochettino's job to stabilise the mood.

All these contract/transfer stories coming out three games before the end of the season are completely unprofessional and demoralising, and that, I suppose, is what modern football is all about.

My thoughts too. I think we need a bit of a reinvention in the summer, because it seems like this group has peaked. If we repeat the trick of last summer and fail to make any serious upgrades, then the club's lack of ambition will filter through the players, the fans and the management.

Classic Spurs vs West Brom. I think we got it wrong tactically in hindsight but actually thought the performance was worse on Monday.

Laughable. Just laughable. Shouldn't have to be relying on Liverpool to get a result tomorrow.

Players need a kick up the arse to get over the line now. We hardly had a shot in that second half. It was awful. Really really poor.

Dier needs to start the last two games ahead of Wanyama. He's slow to move the ball and is not as sharp as he was last season since returning
Oh exactly. And reason why Dier is so important to us. Some just refused to see this point.

A couple of observations, when you need to do something to open up a team like that and you bring on someone to run at the defence Alli is probably not the man to take off, when you have a player taking on defenders the ball is likely to run free and having a quick thinker in the box is invaluable, Alli is as quick as they come, I have asked if he was injured, was he?
With five minutes to go in an away game you are drawing without your best two defensive midfielders and you lose your cornerstone central defender you probably ought not bring on an ineffectual striker, better to shore up the midfield and take the draw.

This isn't just because we lost today but it all feels a bit flat right now at Spurs. Compare it to last season, we were all on such a high, that last game at WHL, the symbolic rainbow the way we finished season smashing teams. Felt like something special was on horizon.

Now after another season losing a semi, likelihood of selling players, no proof we've changed wage structure, Kane current form, limping over line in games, ticket price increases, I dunno.
We should have been going into new stadium with feeling of last season but it all feels a bit meh right now.

Just seen the result and have to say I did smile only spurs can plot their own downfall with such predictability, 2 defeats 1 draw and 1 win in the last few games we are limping over the line.
It has an air of inevitability about it losing against the team bottom of the table and not seeing the game out to almost seal CL, you have to love this club.

We don`t open up teams that sit back so lets buy players with a bit of technique that can do that it cannot be rocket science... You cannot rely on work rate and shape and tactics all the time sometimes you need a player who just does special things and we don`t really have one of those.
