I wonder if we'll be looking to sell Dembele in the summer, looks like he is a permacrock.

I still think he has a big part to play for us, but for the love of God he is as bad as Ledley for injuries.

What time is the Sherwood vitriol scheduled to start? I'm not talking about the current phase which is almost petering out like a spent wave, but today's groundhog day vitriol that will probably start as soon as the teams are announced. So I guess my question is, what time is the team announced?

About 2.12pm is my guess. Let's have a sweepstake.

Sherwood in.

Now it is apparent he is going people might aswell get behind him and the lads and see if we can win all of our run in. Give us a little optimism for next season.

For the record I don't think Tim is that bad but what the fuck were we doing hiring a guy with no experience. We aren't Norwich!

Hopefully we can get back on track next season.

I expect you'll recall that we sacked AVB midway into a season and quite abruptly. No one of the international-superstar-manager category happened to be available at that time. That tends to happen when one sacks the manager in mid-season.

That left two options: (1) appointing a manager without a suitably upmarket CV on a long contract; (2) appointing a caretaker manager from in-house.

Then you might also recall that Sherwood announced that he would not accept the job on a caretaker, this-season-only basis. They compromised and agreed to appoint him for 18 months, presumably on the basis that Levy reckoned it might work out and, if not, writing off a one-year balance on his contract was an acceptable financial risk.

That's how we ended up hiring a guy with no experience.

I think the point is why did we put ourselves in that position at all? What damage could AVB have done between then and the end of the season which hasn't happened anyway?

Doesn't matter now but we essentially created a hole for ourselves with no way out. Smart.

Yacob and Brunt are back, and I'm sure I saw yesterday Jones was as well, so they're pretty close to full strength. No Zoltan though I don't think.

A win today would keep the ember of a chance of CL qualification alive, but also pile the pressure onto L'Arse given they're not playing today. Everton will surely turn over Sunderland so they'll be 4th by the end of the day, as long as we win Arse will only be 2 points ahead (albeit with a game in hand).

Expect Bentaleb to come in.

I fancy Eriksen to get at least a goal and an assist today, kid is on fire.

Continue play like we did and be worse off on the table with only handful of goals scored on the whole season? Who gives a flying fuck about experience if it provides that? Not that AVB had much of an experience, zero as player, about two seasons in management prior his appointment at Spurs. Oh, served tea for Mourinho before that and scouted opposition.

As our options besides starting the same XI are practically to bring in Bentaleb, Townsend, Siggy or Fryers (can't see Friedel or Vejlkovic starting), why wait till announcements? Quite a few of Rose, Naughton, Fryers, Siggy, Chadli, Paulinho, Lennon, Kane, Bentaleb and Townsend will feature on XI, so one can load his ammo prior to announcement anyway.

Just read the team news, how does Sandro get so many injuries when he hardly ever plays? And why has Dembele's hip injury suddenly become bad enough to stop him playing, it would appear to be an on going issue but he has been able to play regularly up until recently.
I maybe cynical, but are these players exaggerating injuries to rest themselves for the world cup? I just hope that they don't return from the wc needing surgery which they are putting off. We don't want to start the next season with the same old injury problems.
