Just read the team news, how does Sandro get so many injuries when he hardly ever plays? And why has Dembele's hip injury suddenly become bad enough to stop him playing, it would appear to be an on going issue but he has been able to play regularly up until recently.
I maybe cynical, but are these players exaggerating injuries to rest themselves for the world cup? I just hope that they don't return from the wc needing surgery which they are putting off. We don't want to start the next season with the same old injury problems.

I don't think that anybody would voluntarily sit out heading into the World Cup unless they were an established player in their national team. Not playing at the season can really effect their form negatively and that might not be worth the risk.

As for Dembele, he always has some nagging injury. At best, he's a play two weeks, hurt for one or two weeks kind of guy. Obviously he's worth keeping on, because he's such a presence in the midfield and he's so good with the ball at his feet. Sandro just hasn't been able to keep consistent fitness after his knee injury, but I highly doubt that he's sitting out looking forward to the World Cup, because he's far from a lock to be in that squad.

I think it's absolutely ludicrous that yet again the FA are forcing clubs to remember Hillsbrough. Yes it's a tradegy that should never of happened but if you're gonna do things like this at least have some consistency, where's the annual Bradford fire tribute etc. why have the media and FA all of a sudden decided to make LFC everybody's second team?

I appreciate the sentiment but I certainly wouldn't want to do this until it's mathematically certain that we can't make 4th, it would be irresponsible.

Thought I'd heard something like that. Sandro definitely not, his shot of a world cup place would be to play regulary and well, there's been other brazilians with injuries and Fernandinho seems to have taken the opportunity that Sandro could have if fit. Same with Lamela, he'd need games.
Think Paulinho's mind is in the world cup though and that his effort is less than it should be due to it, afraid of picking up injury. Vertonghen, who knows .. more focused on getting out of here than the world cup probably.
