Not just lasagnagate, no doubt Twitchy pulled Keane to one side and said " look Robbie, you're probably going to get a chance to score some crucial goals for West Ham, for sure. When they come along, do your worst, know what I mean "

I don't think we'll be able to give him away in the summer, nobody is going to want to pay the wages he's on and we'll be lumbered with him.

One of Harrys biggest mistakes was sticking with this pile of shit that we currently have upfront. Keano would have scored more than any of our current forwards.

Oh you mean bringing back a leader in the dressing room when we were down the bottom of the table and making him captain? We wenr a great run towards the end of that season didn't we? Nearly got into Europe I seem to remember.

And mo I'm not saying it was all down to Keane, but he was a part of it.

He's useless now. There should be no room for sentiments.

If Defoe hadn't of got injured .......

To be fair though Keane was our best player based on points per game in the 08/09 season (Redknapp as manager).

so because he was playing we won more points?

Nothing to do with the opposition we were playing or the 10 other players?

Just stating a fact. In the 08/09 season we played better (in terms of ppg) with Keano in the team than without.

Palacios was the key to that revival. Keane played a part, however big or small nobody can really say for sure. But he cost, what, £12m to bring back plus, say, £60,000 p/w in wages.

Had we not re-signed him, we would've still climbed up the league and we certainly wouldn't have gotten relegated. But if we hadn't re-signed him, we would've saved £12m in transfer fees plus at least £3m in wages, as I don't know how much Celtic and West Ham contribute to his wages.

We've wasted at least £15m on a player who was quite clearly on a downward spiral at Liverpool and most of us could see that he shouldn't have been bought back.

So I agree with OmarsComing, bringing Keane back was one of Harry's biggest mistakes.

People could probably make the same point with Defoe, but when Defoe left, he looked a much improved player. As he did in his first 12-18 months on his return. It's only with the benefit of hindsight that you could argue Defoe shouldn't have been bought back.

With Keane, it was clear to see he'd lost a lot of his magic when he moved to Anfield.

Means absolutely nothing. I'm pretty sure we had a better ppg average and goals conceded ratio with Bassong in defence last season than we do with Gallas in defence this season. Doesn't make Bassong a better player.

I agree with Omar. And to add to that. In the time he's been back, he's spent nearly half the time out on loan and in the time between he's two loan spells we've been trying to sell him.
