Spurs visit Upton Park for the sixth match of the 2010-11 Premier League season in fifth place in the table and unbeaten in all their away matches so far.

It will be the 236th game between the two clubs since the first meeting on 3rd September 1898 in the Thames & Medway League when West Ham went by the name of Thames Ironworks.

West Ham by contrast are in bottom place and have lost all their home matches this season.

Spurs have an excellent record against West Ham in recent times, winning nine and drawing two of the last twelve meetings between the clubs.

Spurs have done the 'double' over West Ham in the last two seasons and have won the last six consecutive matches.

Despite those impressive statistics, I expect West Ham to prove to be very tough opponents on Saturday and Spurs shouldn't make the mistake of underestimating their East London rivals.

Ex-Hammer Jermain Defoe, who has scored in the last three meetings and five in total against West Ham for Spurs is still injured and Spurs have found Premier League goals hard to come by in his absence.

I predict that it will be a hard fought match with Spurs just edging it by the odd goal in three.
