Don't Barca need a keeper with Valdes and Pinto leaving?
They also need a new manager when Tata Martino goes....

I'm not defending them. They are a disgrace. But I'm convinced that wouldn't be happening with the right man in the dugout. Sherwood is a young manager and still learning (or attempting to learn) how to get these players to care and organise them properly. His words about passion etc. just serve to ring more hollow after performances after today, and prove that he's incapable (at the moment) of getting it to work in practice.

The problem is, those players (Paulinho and Adebayor) are more scared of the ball than they are of what would happen to them after the game for doing something like that.

No amount of managing a player will prevent him from hacking down a player unnecessarily, or turning away from the ball when in a wall to defend. It's about character and determination.

I will ask you this.

Would King or say Adams or Mabbutt, or Pearson (for example) have turned their backs at that free-kick? If your answer is no then we do not have the right character of player at the club.

Trouble was when Kane was subbed it meant we had to shift the wall around. If you look at the first West Ham free kick Kane was in the middle and stood solid as a rock. He got subbed and well you saw what happened when soppy bollocks Paulie was stuck in the middle and not on the end

Nope, frankly. I would like to think whoever the manager was. Partly this is perhaps because TS is seen, or has been seen, as a dead man walking (cue tiresome jokes), a temporary appointment. The squad sees thing differently when they feel this is the case, and they play differently (I am not sure how consciously they do this). It is similar of course to when SAF told Man U players he was leaving (and then didn't); and closer to home, when HR seemed to be going to the England job. Something courses through the club, a sense of being rudderless (I have likened it before to a bee colony that is temporarily queen-less). Any manager would be in an impossible position, and it would leave the club exposed. Levy might have chosen a long term replacement for AVB but the one he wanted was perhaps unavailable. What to do? I still feel there is an underlying problem with the revolving door. Managers are either poorly advised or poorly supported by those around them at our club. Well, that's my take on it anyway. 'Simple' answers are usually wrong answers.

There was a time when I would get very aggressive with any WHU mates after a result like that. Not any more, now I just don't care.
It's going to take something very special to get me excited about THFC again...very sad to say it, but it's true, after 47 years, and I'm a previous season ticket holder I've just about had it.
