As bad as people think Sherwood is, it's plain stupid to suggest that he be held responsible for the actions of that defensive wall today. Those players learned years ago how to defend a free kick when in a wall. Sherwood is as responsible for those two players doing what they did today as the common sense in your post. Next your'l be telling us all that Sherwood told that lump of a centre half we have how to tackle from behind.................

What do you think it is that managers are supposed to do, out of interest?

Not sure I'm reading this right and if I'm not please forgive me but did you honestly just ask what difference do tactics make???

Lol, how do you even have a proper football debate with a guy that thinks tactics and personnel don't make a difference in any given match.

My main worry hear is that Sherwood probably thinks the same thing.

Had to be elsewhere today so had it set up to record on BT Sport - until I saw the team line up with Paulinho and Siggi in the middle - then I pressed Delete. Good choice by the sound of it.

The guy is so unbelievably thick. Nobody is making decisions based on the final two games, they're basing it on the pitiful performances and results in March that have rendered these last two games completely meaningless.

When this clusterfuck of an appointment gets the boot, I'm throwing a street party.
The problem is Levy hasn't told him whether he is going or staying.

If a manager has to explain to an experienced CH how to tackle and players what to do in a wall, then those players need to be sold. We are not a fucking Conference side and those players today didn't come in off the street five minutes before kick off. I'd at least expect at the millions that those very players cost we should see some semblance of knowledge at tackling and at defending a free kick. Kabul was an embarrassment today and not for the first time shown quite rightly a red card.

The BT gang were creaming about Tim before KO and saying we are mad to get rid.....and then at HT they all were wondering why we were so inept ...great pundits.
I was actually pleased that the Wham fans were ridiculing him singing "we want you to stay". Someone needs to tell him he's a useless **** since the media seem to think he's the new Pep.

I would be highly surprised if Lloris was still here next season. The guy's good enough to be playing for a top CL team not some rebuilding club with potentially no European football.
Again same issue of who would sign him, europe full of top keepers at the moment

I'm not defending them. They are a disgrace. But I'm convinced that wouldn't be happening with the right man in the dugout. Sherwood is a young manager and still learning (or attempting to learn) how to get these players to care and organise them properly. His words about passion etc. just serve to ring more hollow after performances after today, and prove that he's incapable (at the moment) of getting it to work in practice.

The problem is, those players (Paulinho and Adebayor) are more scared of the ball than they are of what would happen to them after the game for doing something like that.
