Given all the whining today I thought i'd make this a thread, instead of posting it a thousand times.

Over the last few years we've spent a huge amount of money (on players, the new training ground and the new stadium). Cash reserves at the end of December were low.

Cash in hand at the start of July 2008: £35.3m
Cash in hand at the end of December 2009: £6.2m

And that's after we raised £15m cash from a share issue. Not something you can do every year.

Unless we can sell a bunch of players we won't be spending money.

have we spent a penny on a new stadium? is it even a given? i know there's plans and proposals but liverpool, everton, and even pompey had grand plans i dont think those 3 will be going anywhere anytime soon.

or is the proposed new stadium truly going ahead?

As Kendall says we spent tens of millions buying up land and property around WHL and on architects and the planning approval process (plans have had to be modified twice to keep haringey happy).

CL money hasn't arrived yet....

Our new stadium will be built , it has been posted on here before now how notoriously difficult it is to build ANYTHING in London but we are so far down the line now that the stadium will be built. Just need a little bit more patience :)

I've been saying (and receiving abuse) that we can't afford players because we need to horde the CL money for the stadium. Just makes sense to me. We're never going to get a windfall like that again. And even if we spend 50 in the market we're not going to guarantee we will return. Best investment is in the stadium.

if we hadnt got ourselfs in such a bloody mess under ramos we would of been fine. If harry had been employed instead of ramos then we wouldnt of watsed so much money that summer. Also the summer before 16 mill for bent wtf.

Then when harry came in he had to buy players to scrap us out of relegation eg- palcios

The new stadium has been mentioned around here and it reminded me of a chat I had after the England Vs Hungary friendly with the journalist who wrote the story for Jol being sacked the morning he was and also the recent story about Rafa's departure.

He said that our new stadium was unlikely to be finalised and processed and we would instead at best be able to get a few thousand more at most at WHL.
He said rumors were we would rotate WHL 90 degree's pretty much and expand it a little.

I didn't believe it too much due to the information and planning that has been done for a new stadium and also as I didn't want to believe that we wouldn't get a new stadium but I'm not sure. There could be truth in it. He does have a fairly decent background on stories but then every journalist gets the odd story right!
