6th-8th is the likely outcome given the sqaud we have.
MC, Man U, Liverpool and Chelsea are too good and on a different level to the rest.
Leicester has a better squad than ours.
Arsenal is worse than us.
So 6th is what you would expect, but then Leeds and West Ham can beat anyone on their day so 8th is the minimum expectation.

I don't know any more, I think it could be the ultimate humilation this season as we might fall behind even Le Arse now. I was confident before that still wouldn't happen because Arteta was there, but after this breaking news, if they get a decent new manager in, I am not so sure any more:

It’s funny, v City I personally thought we deserved the victory but yesterday I really felt we didn’t. The big difference being that v City we seemed far more methodical in how we were getting the ball forward and actually looked dangerous, whereas bar the goal and a couple of Bergwijn led charges late on I thought we were just hitting hopefully out balls yesterday.

This might be because Wolves actually pressed and harassed us far better than City did, and I think Wolves are a decent side who underperformed last season, but I hope we build our attacks better than yesterday more often than not. I don’t even mind the possession stats, I’ve never been one who married himself to the idea that more of the ball equals better use of the ball, but yesterday we had neither and against Wolves, the latter is the least I expect.

Still, 6 points, haven’t conceded, newly promoted side next and 9 days left of the transfer window, I retain my optimism for the season ahead.

Unfortunately after just two matches the Premier League finishing table is already so predictable, top four will include Man City, Chelsea and Liverpool not in that particular order with the rest of us battling for the other available position to get CL next season. Spurs need reinforcements quickly if we are to maintain challenging near the top, the Pacos game was evidence of how weak the squad is once the first choice eleven are left out.

We should be aiming to compete for 5th with Leicester. If one of Man City, Chelsea, Liverpool or Utd have a bad season then 4th is on but I can’t see it at this point.

I'd agree with that but that includes Kane in our squad! Where do we finish without Harry Kane?

Whilst i dont disagree that i think thats where we'll end up, our ambition at the start of every season should be to win the league or at the very least an FA or League cup.

100%…but I woke up suffering from a mild case of the realities this morning.

You don't really have Man Utd in with ' the rest of us,' do you? Top 4 looks very obvious this season and, if anyone was to under perform, I would say Liverpool are far more likely than man Utd.

I disagree because your ambition should match what you've got. There's not enough goals in the frontline in this team, as it stands. Whereas Chelsea for example solved the same problem by buying Lukaku.

The resources are too different between us and the top 4. It's unrealistic to think we will beat the odds.

Actually i disagree with that. I think Man U more likely than Liverpool to cock up. Reasons:

1) Man U still doesnt have their striker-problem sorted out.
2) Varane may not gel and if he doesn't their defence is the weakest amongst the top 4
3) Pogba is highly volatile and you can't guess what mood he is in and whether he turns up. He is their only creative deep midfielder (I classify Fernedes as more of a striker since he scores alot more than he assists).

Liverpool in contrast, doesn't have the above problems. They have a settled side; their problem would be one that will be similar to ours (an aging or regressing side that needs replacing) but that's not impacting this season yet.

Fair points but I still think they will both finish top 4 anyway

I would agree but Leicester have not looked as good as expected the first two games, even though they beat Wolves. The injuries to Evans and Fofana leave them really weak in defence and Vestergaard got crocked in training too.

I fully expect top four to be last season's top four but behind that really is anyone's guess.

Beginning to look implausible that United, City or Chelsea don't make the Top 4 after investing from positions of strength. I guess we're left chasing West Ham, Leicester and Liverpool while trying to stay ahead of Arsenal. Certainly won't be easy

Might be unrealistic to expect Moriba Royal Tomi Adama. But if we could we might win it all ?

But seriously if we did those 4 in great top 4 shout.
