Well you know when you have a girlfriend and she is cute and nice, the girl next door, kind of naïve, has a good heart, doesn't really want too much and really appreciates you for who you are? But you have your eyes on this chick who is gorgeous, is glamour and sex personified, a real seductress. Well she's out of your league, and you know she is a ball breaker and even though its going to end badly, you've still got to have a taste.

Well that's what CL is for players. What they don't realize is that getting there is only the beginning...the fun hasn't even started yet. Only the strong survive - the rest are there just to make up the numbers. Interesting to see how Poch and our lads are going to approach this.

I think its ultimately attracting better quality players. We can make a push and sign 2/3 proven CL players to help improve our depth and title push next season. Always there will be a list of positives but I don't think it can be singled to one sole positive. We could have all the money in the world but no CL football and still fail to attract quality players. We'll not only fulfill our own players ambition to play CL football but also upcoming talent that we are linked with.

It gives us much more power in attempting to sign the likes of Boufal, Lacazette or Batshauyi. I've listed these three as they have been linked to us a lot recently. Any of these three I would sign for sure as we need some attacking back up but I think without CL, we wouldn't have a chance in signing any of the three as other clubs could weigh in and offer it.

I'd agree, really all of the options are positives and thankfully they come as a package. The poll was more a way to see where people's priorities lie at the moment. For me, I love the squad and don't want it broken up, so fulfilling ambition and keeping it together is tantamount.

It might be a sign of the times but I am more excited about who we might unearth from the Youth and also signings like Alli than I am about the next star players being linked.

I agree also with your point. I'm all for unearthing hidden gems and turning them into top class players but I still feel we need an element of proven experience within our squad. For CL games it will come in very handy and even the likes of PL games where teams come and sit back against us. A cool head is always good to have. Someone in the mould of a Cambiasso when he was at Leicester, or even if he doesn't renew his contract this season, I'd have Carrick back for a season!

Best thing is taking my 14 year old son to his first european away game at place like the San Siro, Bernabau, Nou Camp etc etc.

I was in the San Siro for the birth of Bale - I remember having to console him (then 8 years old) over the phone at half time when we were 4-0 down. He was distraught. This time I can console him in person as he'll be with me :)

I don't really agree. Do you remember the season we last got into the champions league? We targeted players like Gareth Barry and Roque Santa Cruz *shudder* who chose Man City above us because of the wages on offer.

We are not going to up our wage threshold because of CL, so we will still run the risk of being beaten to signings by richer clubs who don't make CL such as Chelsea or Man U.

We also targeted the likes of Van Der Vaart, who arguably was one of the best players we've had in recent years and definitely was one of our highest earners. Also there wasn't any solid info regarding Barry & Santa Cruz. If you're following the media's reporting on transfers, then their info on contract seem as if we're nearly doubling some players wages in the coming months.

There was solid info on Barry/Santa Cruz. Mr.Gobshite himself Redknapp came out and said we couldn't compete with Man city on wages. There are quotes from the time if you google it

Regardless, the amount of money being given to teams has considerably increased with TV money always increasing so we should be able to compete much better than then. I'd rather sign a player wanting to come to us for our project rather than how much money we can give them. We all know Poch want's players to sign for the cause because they want to be part of the team. Poch has drilled that into our transfer philosophy it seems.

My point was that CL football will give us more power in competing with other clubs. It isn't necessarily conclusive that it alone will make players want to sign for us over other clubs. We will always miss out on top players because we can't compete with other clubs wage structures. There will always however be players wanting to sign for us that are of a top quality. Whether they fit in Poch's plan is another thing.

The fact that on the next football manager all our best players wont try and force a move a week into pre-season

And the glamour, players happy in real life, money bla bla bla
