“I think you should have ambition and take risks in your working lives, staying where you are comfy and the big fish is not my idea of living life to the full”

Yes, because posting on a football forum about the contract of another teams player is the definition of living ones life to the full.

When did northerners lose their grasp on reality?

It’s a shame that so much focus is given to eejits like him & Sol who randomly say something controversial just to get attention

Dont get the crying about Liverpool, I checked back over that page and there were also comments from Villa, Arsenal, Utd, Chelsea & City yet for some reason people are jumping on the comment from RAWK...

It belongs in this thread as it’s a comment about us from opposition fans

Tony Adams on the Spurs core in the England squad:
“I’m really worried about these Tottenham players, I don’t think they know how to win. They’re very good players but at certain points in seasons and tournaments, you have to step up.”
Cos we won so many tournaments when Adams and his gooner winners were playing for England

Or like arguing with a globe believer who doesn’t accept any other theory, there’s a lot a evidence to support the flat earth, go have a look.
The world is obviously round i have seen all the pictures, although i have never seen footage of a plane flying upside down. :wacky::wacky::wideyed:

Collymore is out of order on this.

It may be true that there is some prejudice in football and the media, because there is some prejudice in real life, but using Sol Campbell vs Steven Gerrard/Frank Lampard is not the right example. Throughout Campbell's playing career there have been doubts about his loyalty - hah - and capability to mix well with others, then his odd comments about everything from hunting (the banter!) and mansion tax, mayor of London, and then racism as a reason why he's not being employed. He comes across as a loony and no chairman is going to risk their club for him.

As for Ian Wright. He's done well for himself after his playing career. You don't get the impression he is an Uncle Tom at all. He just has a job, that's all, as Jenas does and Chris Kamara does (Other Collymore tagged in the post).

Just look at some of the other opinions Collymore has on his twitter and maybe that's the answer, trolling or not, that type of personality is not suited to the BBC. Hence why he was on TalkSport and now Russia Today of all places. 150m for Alli/Eriksen/Alderweireld to Liverpool, ffs Stan. It's not that white men fear outspoken black men, in this case, it's just that stupid opinions impact the credibility of everyone connected, and he's full of them.

Gerrard's family would have come to some serious harm if he had ever left Liverpool. He had no option but to stay put, for the safety of those around him.

Yet they still consider him a hero. Shows how mixed up their thinking is. Force him to stay (when he wanted to join Chelsea) by threatening serious harm to his family and then worship him for staying. Must be a definition of madness.

Not read any of his latest stuff but i'm sure Collymore chose to leave the BBC and they wanted to keep him. He may have backed the wrong horse there.

Wow. Did he say that? Isn't that ridiculously hypocritical? He reckons BAME guys don't get the opportunities, and has a pop at a black colleague for taking the opportunity? Could be to do with Wright being rather good at what he does: maybe not the most erudite of ex-pros, but has some insight, is fair in his assessments, has a bit of fun with club bias whilst still showing respect, and is a charismatic chap. It's almost as if those characteristics are more important than one's skin colour for doing a job which involves talking about football....
