OK...so all caught up now on RAWK...here we go;
...amazing!
Of course England's golden boy (who doesn't even captain his club) is made captain over a guy who's just captained his club to a Champions League final.
Can he actually speak English?
Jordan most likely won't give a shit, he'll be the leader on the pitch anyway.
response to above..Henderson might be relieved, when it all inevitably goes tits up the shit won't land at his feet.
Yep, he’ll get paired with Dier and then take all the flak for the midfield’s lack of creativity.
Let's just hope nobody says anything to hurt Harry's feelings.
Yeah delighted about this. Easier to keep the Engerlund dickheads a layer removed from our players when the tears inevitably start
Add that to the Spurs list of monumental achievements.
They just keep on winning.
Sums Southgate up to be honest. Give it to the 'best' player who scores loads of goals would have been his thinking. It's a safe ideology that is shared by the teenagers on Twitter who'd mock him if he picked Henderson, hence why he's done it. He can't honestly think that a guy who steals goals off his teammates and then says "but the most important thing is that... I score more goals than last year" is a more suitable captain than someone who has guided his team to a CL final, and central to the squad harmony that has been a big factor in getting there. Can you imagine Kane giving an interview like this? - http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ng-pressure-ahead-Champions-League-final.html
Having said all that, it's probably a good thing that Henderson won't be captaining England to their worst ever World Cup. It's a shame for Jordan though, who deserved it and will probably be a bit gutted.
Exactly. It makes no sense to me apart from Kane has been begging Southgate since he got there, which going from what he done this season is pretty much a definite. Strange timing for Southgate to do it, especially doing it when Jordan is not even there yet I think is a bit weird, thats the main thing for me.
Gormless one as skipper, sounds about right for Ingerlaand.
Kane is the perfect captain for England, thick as pigshit, and with a very high opinion of himself.
A guy who took something away from a foreigner and then went moaning to the press trying to appear as the victim seems the perfect captain for the Brexit England team.
Harry Kane's sensitive selfish crybaby mentality in the past month or so... wouldn't be my choice for captain. He also sounds like a Scooby Doo monster when he speaks so he's not going to communicate with the foreign refs too well
it's probably why he's been made captain. He's being appeased after all his self created humiliation the last few weeks. He's one of England's few top talents. Yet has clearly got the constitution and mental fortitude of a toddler.
It’s essentially the same as making Gareth Keenan milk monitor. The other lads, like Henderson, will lead the squad, but Kane won’t cry into his comfort blanket now.
Couldn't give a fuck who captains England. Just think it's a bit kooky that Kane doesn't even captain his own team
I think it’s briiliant. I’m irish so I have no care not concern for England but the inevitable collapse will happen. It will follow on that Kane has to face questioning about this and he will start doubting himself after not securing another top scorer award. He will then come back to Spuds a broken man and be stone useless next season and Spuds won’t even be able to flog him to make money!!!
It's really not a big deal. Does any other country make such a fuss out of the armband as England?* If you're a leader, you'll be a leader no matter what.
Henderson isn't going to fall to bits just because he's not shaking hands at the start of the game. I'm sure he'll be much the same as he ever is, when it comes to bringing a squad together.
*with that said, we do make a fuss about it in this country, and it's seen as a reward. Kane as captain does have a whiff of appeasement for the sensitive lad about it.
The England captaincy has always been a joke since Pearce gave the armband to Scott 'Scotty' Parker over Gerrard.
The last few weeks have shown that he doesn't have the mentality to deal with criticism so it'll be interesting how he copes with the stick he'll face as captain when England inevitably go crashing out.
...amazing!
