Getting the complaints about the ref on Sunday in early, I see. Who the hell chared who the ref is. Play our best and let the chips fall as they may.
Got many Inter friends here in Italy ; they're getting very arrogant after having beaten us first time around.
Before that game they were very pessimistic about t the group, but they're pretty confident of qualifying now.
One guy was saying it all depends on which Inter turns up today.... Wrong! I told him, if Spurs are at their best as they were against Chelsea, Inter, or anybody else for that matter, haven't got a chance.
Annoyingly there's a chance we beat inter and still don't go through. Guess that's a reason for their arrogance.Got many Inter friends here in Italy ; they're getting very arrogant after having beaten us first time around.

I must have watched a different game to these lads. We should have been about 3-0 up by the time Icardi smashed their first chance of the game in - I remember 2 or 3 big chances for Lamela in particular. I wouldn't say they stifled us well at all.Inter Forums (small selection after our Chelsea win):

Some advice from Sarri
“Inter are a good team, so I just hope they don’t have the same initial approach that we did,” noted Sarri.
“It’s important to contain them in the first 30 minutes, as that is when Spurs are really dangerous. Inter must also avoid losing possession in their own half, because when it comes to counter-attacks, Tottenham are one of the most effective teams in Europe.”

Seeing that we very effectively neutralized them in the first round, I'm confident Spallo knows what to do. Everybody whined about how our attack looked, but either refuse to acknowledge or chose to downplay that we did contain them quite well defensively. Kane had 1 chance and they scored a grossly deflected goal.
Chelsea were flat yesterday (energy wise), fielded a very lightweight midfield, and a very shit forward who messes up like 90% of the offense (morata). Not to mention, an absolute disaster defender in sideshow bob. Unfortunately for Chelsea, all those elements showed up at the same time.
We just need to not be flat Tuesday and we'll be fine.

Just realize they play Arsenal next after our match. This week honestly isn’t any easier for them than it is for us. They might even prioritize the London derby if they think their chances of getting out of this group are a long shot

was going to write something about that as well but it was coming out clunky and disorganized. But, yeah, we might have a tough away game as well but the worst case scenario that comes out of that game vis-a-vis Inter and Roma is we leave the Olimpico six points ahead of a team we expect to be fighting for CL places with. In other words, we'd still be in pretty good condition.
Tottenham will be anywhere from 3-6 points ahead of Arsenal going into that game (1-1 in Arsenal's game as I write this). And it's a proper derby, not just two teams fighting for similar ambitions. That's a tougher game for them than Roma away is to us, with all due respect to Roma; if the roles were reversed Roma fans would probably say the same thing.
That being said, once the game starts on Wednesday night I'm not really sure "what about Arsenal on Sunday?" is going to be concern to Poch or the players. Spurs know it's a must-win game for them in Europe that night and, if anything, would be prone to having a negative knock-on effect for the NLD if they get knocked out of the CL directly before that game.

I think people are reading a little too into Spurs beating Chelsea. That defeat was a long time coming for that Chelsea side. Their defence is very poor, of that entire back four I would say Azpilicueta is the only one I'd rate highly as a defender. Luiz and Rudiger are shaky at best and rely too heavily on Kante to protect them, and because Kante was too busy protecting Beavis and Butthead behind him, the midfield got completely overrun. Add to the fact that Chelsea lack a top striker, they had nobody to produce a moment of magic and keep Spurs on edge.
Meanwhile we have one of, if not the best centre back pairing in the CL, our full backs are competent but I almost would agree with an earlier suggestion of moving Skriniar to RB for this one if Vrsaljko isn't ready to go. I really don't see our defence faltering the way Chelsea's did.
The tactic just has to be the same as it was the first time out, press them high up the pitch and put them under pressure. Icardi, Perisic and Politano have a massive job to do in that regard to not give that back line an inch to try and play out from the back.
It's not going to be pretty to watch, but there will be a lot of Inter working to contain Spurs and merely be looking to Icardi to make something out of nothing, but the main thing will be to stop Spurs scoring and I have full faith that we will achieve that.

We will win the match 2-0 with Icardi brace.
Possession - 54% Tottenham
Shots 15 - 11 in favour of Inter
On target 6-4 in favour of Tottenham
IIRC, the first of their 4 in target was Icardi's screamer.
They are also forgetting they were playing against a team with effectively no keeper. Michelle "the statue" Vorm was "keeping" Goal for us.
Nah, stats don't tell the whole story. They pressed us very well during the first 20 minutes or so, and for a moment or two it seemed like we were about to capitulate. But we were able to hold on and eventually were able to dominate the match a bit and score a goal.

That doesn't refute anything he said though
haha, I know. I wasn't attempting to refute him, just trying to argue that Inter gave us a far harder challenge than those stats imply. The way they pressed us at the beginning and start of that match, not many other teams have given us that treatment in recent years.
