Ergh,

I watched the United match on my phone on a date with the wife (afternoon tea, think it was an early KO that day)

She wan't happy but let it go as I tried to explain to her that afternoon tea is shit and it's for ponces.
I can go one further than this.

I'd bought tickets for my dad and i to Spurs vs Fulham for the weekend just gone. In what can only be called a complete and utter act of stupidity, i double booked myself for the same day to go for afternoon tea with the gf.

Had to give my spurs ticket away to my brother

@TottenhamMattSpur

Somebody's playing at being posh. Cream tea is where it's at.

Cup of tea and a sarnie. You little pretender, builders eat that on the job on a daily basis.

Scones, jam and cream. Pot of tea, cup with saucer.

Get yer shit together lad. :ROFLMAO: :coffee::sneaky:

Friends of Fulham Forum discussing Garth Crooks praise of Kane's performance on Saturday:

If I was a betting man, which I’m not, I would have put my house on Kane scoring today. So obvious. So Fulhamish we could not help ourselves to oblige

Breaking News.
Harry has been made a citizen of Tottenham.
He becomes........
CITIZEN KANE

i thought kane was a very good bit part player on the day, but is a lethal finisher so he did his job brilliantly getting the ball and placing it superbly for his goal, that is what he does.
I thought mitro's goal in many ways was better becuase it was a genuine strikers goal. It was one for one hitting the post though I think mitro's effort was superior.
and a shame mitro didn't connect properly with his other big chance because that would have been 2 1 to us and we would not have lost from there IMO.
The prem is cruel in that the other team always has quality players.

Chelsea fan opinion on their stadium on the Shed End

can't wait for ours to be built and blow the others out the water aesthetically. i might be bias, but the proposed plans i have seen for our stadium look lovely, and the inside too with the talk of sound amplifying creation and how the tunnel will be located. it sucks we're going to have to wait years to see it.

The next few posts are City views on our stadium:

Blue Mist said:
In 1998, 20 years ago, the Dutch side Vitesse Arnhem built a ground that had a retractable pitch, it too went under the stand when not in use so it is hardly ground breaking technology. The simple fact is the time frame for the project was too tight for the miser that is a chairman. To be honest I am not arsed and I am sure most Blues will agree with me, what pisses us off is that we will be forced into something that is too our detriment. The obvious solution is to decide now, which stadium in London the match will be played in on that chosen Sunday. The fact that this hasn't yet happened is down to a penny pinching tight arse.
The Gelredome is different in one key respect: the pitch slides under the stand and continues outside the stadium, where it resides. It is the same for all other sliding pitches that have hitherto been built.

Where the new WHL differs is that, being in a built up urban area, there wasn't the space to house the pitch outside the stadium. The only option was for the pitch to remain under the stand and podium when retracted. And that meant that unlike all other stadia with sliding pitches, it wouldn't have been possible for the pitch to retract in one piece. Those other stadia have support columns that can temporarily be lifted while the pitch is sliding under the stand, allowing the pitch to remain whole. That option wasn't feasible at new WHL because, with the pitch remaining under the stand, lifted support columns would have had to remain lifted. And that simply wouldn't have been safe - especially not with 17.5K fans adding to the weight of the south stand.

The result of which is that the support columns under the south stand are fixed and the pitch, in addition to sliding from end to end, is split into three sections that slide far enough sideways to allow for the columns. All of which makes it mechanically far more complicated than a normal sliding pitch.

The synthetic turf surface for NFL games is the lower of the two. It means that sight lines from the stands are perfect for both codes. As to light etc, modern technology is so good now that there will be no adverse impact on the pitch when it is housed under the stand for any length of time. The underside of the stand is fitted out with grow lighting and fans that will provide necessary air circulation and deliver a fine mist of water.

What you saw was the completed NFL pitch. What you can see now on the webcams are the trays that will accommodate the grass pitch. The only thing that remains to be done - and which was always planned to be left until a few weeks before it was required - is laying the turf. It's a three day job at most. The drainage and undersoil heating is built into the trays in which the pitch sits.

Finally, as to why the need for two pitches..........money! Not just NFL games but the versatility that the retractable pitch offers will enable Spurs to host many different non football events.

They are going to need some absolutely mega amplifiers to take the sound of their one fan who sings and make it sound like 60,000.

Can you imagine 90 minutes of amplified “one man went to mow”, I think I would choose to shoot myself and very quickly.

Red cafe straight after Sunday’s game:

This'll go one of two ways. We'll grind yet another 1-0 win against this lot, or we get humiliated.

I'll save you guys a bunch of time. We're not going to win.

We’ll lose this one as well because we are gutless and managed by a useless ....

I'd be happy with 3 shots on target never mind 3 points.

All I have to say is I hope we can avoid a humiliation. Seeing them all over us for most of the game would be utterly depressing.

We're winning this. We're so predictable when it comes to results.

It’s the taking part that counts.

Will be a deserved thrashing 1-4.

Alli and Kane have more touches in the opponents penalty box (31) than the entire Manchester United squad (30). Tottenham have a total of 75 touches so far.

Bit more optimistic today, but their poll for the winner is still mostly Spurs:

I can see us beating Spurs then losing to Burnley, that's the mentality of these players.

That Brighton game has made me lose my confidence with this team. I fear we will struggle against Spurs. Predicting a 1-2 loss but I hope I am wrong. We need Matic to come back and secure that midfield.

We'll win this and all of the knee jerkers will be singing again.

Need Matic back and quick. Pereira isn't an option.

I have a funny feeling we will win this to paper over the cracks for a little while. Nearly always play better against the top sides, playing like a lower league underdog. It won't be pretty though.

By the poll spurs are huge favourite i see. Come on people, it is easy 2.0 victory. We will play 3412 and win in ugly match.

I predict a 0-1 Eriksen special - sinking Mou deeper and deeper into the mire.

It’s a high class ponce that enjoys tea, and one’s poncification is complete if one avoids football updates too

I've tried so hard in the past to poncify myself, but I always found myself being totally outponced by much poncier ponces, so I just gave up and carried on being working class scum, of which I learned to be proud because at the end of the day a ponce is just a ponce and poncism is just ponces trying affirm the belief in their own superiorness (new word?), otherwise known as self poncification, over us non-ponces.
