Chelsea fans saying we are a vile club and so are our fans,
Really

Nothing a lot of people on here don’t say about them. In reality we’re all the same human beings, with the same mix of politics, biases and flaws as each other.

For those that might be interested Paul Canonville has a book Black and Blue that's worth a read and sadly it does tell a story of the time - I like to think people have moved on but I am not always covinced - book flyler below

Paul Canovilles story is one of extreme racist bigotry, shattering career-ending injury, a decline into drug abuse, battles against cancer, family tragedy and a determination to beat the odds. Canoville was Chelsea's first black first-team player, making his debut in 1982. ..

Nice guy. Had the pleasure to meet him as he was part of an organisation that organised sport for the school I was a governor off. Perfect individual to understand the barriers our kids were facing.

I must be the odd one out. Chelsea mates, like my city pals are all level headed and normal. I find the scouse and United fans the worst for entirelment to silverware

From The Shed End Match Thread: They seem pretty confident

We are going to win 3-1.

I’m pretty confident we’ll win today.

Keep Kane quiet and that’s 80% of their attack nullified.

I’d love a convincing victory and a clean sheet.

We have been good lately but we haven’t turned up against Liverpool and Man Utd. Today is the day we make a statement.

Spuds are not to be underestimated. Jose in his second season with a club has a fantastic track record. He won the cl with inter and Porto ffs. He knows a lot of stuff and he’s been around the block a few times.

son and Kane are fantastic players.

also their defence is quite tight and obviously the will try and catch us on the break.

I think we can win I fancy Werner against aurier if James is fit team kind of picks itself with havertz first sub me without knowing how fit Pulisic is I’d be loath to risk reinjuring him

Lamps tends to play three CBs and wing backs in the bigger matches, also did both fixtures against these last season. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Azpi/Rudi start as third CB. Mourinho normally also often plays for a point or a scratchy 1-0 away against rivals, so it could be a cagey one. Personally I hope it isn’t and we batter them. Let’s go boys!!!

Feels like it’s been a long time since we’ve smashed one of the better teams. Was Man United 4-0 the last time?

PLEASE let today be the day.

When Kane drops deep he'll be in Kantes patch.

re spurs also going to play three at the back? So, Mourinho will play his normal 4 at the back, he is not afraid of us, why should we be afraid of him?

With all the players we have now, play 3-4-3? Because our midfield is not good enough? Or our defenders are not good enough?

It will be disrespectful to players like Chillwell, James, Zouma and Thiago, if we cannot play our normal 4 at the back.

I don't want few attackers on the pitch please, I want many attackers on the pitch. I don't think we are Tottenham who defend and defend and defend, we need to attack.

Their defence is terrible and they’re missing Alderweireld.

Aurier, Doherty, Dier, Sanchez and Davies are all poor. Regulion is decent enough and Alderweireld is good. Hugo Howler had had a decent season but may be out. You need to attack their backline from the off and have a go. It’s basically allowing the front 3 to press with a reasonable defensive line to stop their balls over the top. We will win today.

We've the best defense in the league lol
Dier could be our player of the season and most opposition fans would think he's shit. That's his reputation among neutrals/opposition fans at the moment and defenders in particular seem to take forever to change public opinion. For him it's amplified even more by his dodgy England appearances. Overall I'd say he's been one of our best 4/5 players this season and our best defender.

I can see why opposition fans don't rate Aurier, Davies, Sanchez and Doherty, though. I wouldn't be worried about any of them if they were in the Chelsea side. That said, Aurier has been quite good this season but he'll always be a bit of a liability.

They massively underrate Reguilon though.

I wanted us to move Aurier on last season. He improved at the back of last season...this season he's been top notch.

It's like Jose has got him focused...what a difference.

I feel that there are three kinds of Chelsea fans.

There's the racist/thug type ones who followed them through the hooligan years and are part of the British First types. They are mostly London based.

There's the ones who grew up in the 90s and when picking a team chose Chelsea because they were one of the first to start really bringing foreign players such as Vialli, Gullit, Zola, etc to the club. I know a few of these and they are all over the country. They are the ones who think of Chelsea as a big club because they'd passed their darker days at this point and were able to attract bigger players. These fans didn't see or understand the clubs history with racism enough cause they were young at the time.

Finally, you have the new generation - the social media type, who think of Chelsea as one of the world's biggest with a rich history of success because they were born at the start of it or during it. They have never been exposed to the racist core of the club and if so choose to ignore it. They also have no idea of Chelsea's history prior to the PL era and even if you educate them they don't care because they are only interested in getting one over their mates or making a joke about us or United online.

He's like Maguire, he doesn't seem to get many plaudits when he plays well, I think it's to do with the narrative surrounding them and the style of player they are, the look like cloggers so they're expected to be shit and when they have a bad game they just look like pub players. Dier just doesn't fit people's ideologies of a good PL defender.

Arsemania:

"Someone does Mourinho looking to heaven and asking how he is doing, and Arteta answering "You're doing great son"! "

Such a strange comment considering we're top of the league.
