Ill answer a question with another question - why does he (and he doesnt) or do we need him to be 'loved' by others?

It's not about a need to be loved. I may have constantly rooted against Tom Brady but couldn't imagine spewing the vile shit towards him so many people seem to throw at Harry. And if there was such a thing as International American football I would've been happy to have a chance to actually root for him for a change.

I don't understand how the best football player England has produced this generation who has never been in any real trouble off the pitch and is just boring family man with no controversy is so hated in your country.
Jealousy. When you speak to any of them there is an undercurrent of absolute envy that their club has not managed to develop anyone anywhere near as good as him.
The most hilarious ones are Arsenal fans who are clearly annoyed they let him go and United fans who have a bizarre hatred because he never joined them in 2015 despite there being no evidence they were even in for him.

Almost as sad as the ones who read about the ones who sit there watching someone watching the game :cautious:  :bag:

haha - I meant those who sit there for two hours watching someone instead of watching the game. The point essentially was im not blaming the youtubers themselves, they are doing it for money and it is pretty easy money.

He was proper weird. Good that the Spurs fan was composed and didn't take the bait.
Yeah I respected that. He just enjoyed the goal and lived in the moment.

Had enough of these 'banter wars'. It's completely taken over so much so that fans forget what its really about.

Banter has been part of football for 55-60 years, just on the terraces. Now it's on t'internet but by knobs who've never been to a game in their life.

It certainly has but its now in the territory of fans wanting to win so they can 'meme' or banter others rather than just enjoy as part of their group of supporters.

How many in the match threads on here get stressed about a result because of their bloody WhatsApp groups?
It's ridiculous.

Shearer was a dirty fucker though. Loved a sly elbow and put in some shocking challenges over the years. He got sent off a few times as well

This is probably true. I went to the Chelsea v Spurs game in November 1970, age 9, with a crowd in that awful old Stamford Bridge ground of over 61000
It was a vile atmosphere with a heavy, threatening under current. I learnt a lot of new words that day. I was in the Chelsea end as my mates dad had taken us and they were all blues.
It pissed with rain, we were soaked, and we tried to leave at half time it was so bad. I then experienced one of the most terrifying crowd crushes ever, trying to get 1 adult and 3 kids out. I recall my friends dad saying we were going before "all the trouble started".
Of course, Spurs pulled off a fine 2nd half win with 2 goals, which I managed to miss :(
Had a similar experience in the 82 Cup game at Stamford Bridge. I went with my Dad, i was 13 years old and the atmosphere before, during and after the game was just horrible. The Hitler songs were particularly jarring for a Jewish kid.

It was during the height of the hooligan problem and they had a special black programme cover warning fans to behave - I’ve got it somewhere in the loft in my many boxes of old programmes.

Truly vile awful club, even back then when they were just a shit West Ham with fewer fans. Then they won the lottery and got even worse.
