I don't think it will.
The dislike comes from jealousy. We're a club that isn't funded by a state of oil thief and yet we have the best stadium in world football. We've hired a manager than 95% of teams would sack their current incumbent for. We've barely won a trophy for the better part of 2 decades and yet we're still considered a top side in England and Europe.
They hate us because we're a big club and they don't understand why.

Exactly this. We’re definitely not supposed to still be a Big Club but we just will not go away and languish in mid-table like they all think we should, season after season, manager after manager, we win nothing but we still keep hanging around the top of the table like a bad smell and they HATE IT.

I hate all of them 😤

I nearly said apart from Brighton then I realised they were our next fixture so fuck them as well 🖕

De Zerbi's antics make them unlikeable too. First manager I've ever seen to start beef BEFORE a match, which fueled the fire to having them both sent off later in the game.

As an Australian based fan, from the outside it seems we are as big a club as say Everton, Villa, NC. Would this be the opinion of most British based fans?

If you’re looking over a 100 year period then all the clubs have had their moments, peaks and troughs. With Everton, Villa and us originally being part of the big 6 in the 70s/80s/90s.

Villa started the premier league era well with a couple of seasons of Newcastle. Everton haven’t really been a force at any time during the premier league. The last 10-15 years we’ve been comfortably seen as “bigger” than all the clubs mentioned - as we’ve formed a new big six alongside Manchester Utd, City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea.

Newcastles recent buy-out and Everton’s stadium - and now Chelsea’s new ownership- may look to upset that balance.

Most of the recent success of us, Villa and Everton goes back to the 80's. Everton got hit hardest by Heysel ban for English clubs in Europe, because they had a really good team then. But AV have never finished n the top 4, Everton maybe once, We have had more C/League qualifications than Everton, Newcastle and Villa put together

I understand that. Guess it just depends on ones definition of "big club". History, fan base, total trophies - all factor for me, but recent success does also.

We're clearly bigger in the Premier League era thanks to the last 20 years. Bring them to the conversation when they finish top 6 and qualify for the Champions League multiple times.

This is the answer. We've consistently finished top 6 for two decades. Whereas Villa etc do it once or twice. Completely different

Guess big club should take history into account and villa have won the European cup where as we haven't. They also won the league seven times all be it mostly historic their most recent was 81.

Prior to the premier league they are at least as big as us. To be fair we've one one league cup since the turn of the century.

I'd say we're at the top of the tier of clubs that includes Everton and villa l, we haven't won enough recently to be included with Chelsea, UTD, Liverpool and begrudgingly now city.

A lot of emphasis is put on trophies, and historically this was a good guage.........but the reality is that over the last 20 years the Premier League trophy and finishing in a Champions League spot are generally preferable to winning either of the domestic cups - that'll trigger some fans, as everyone loves a bus top parade, but being in the Champions League is pretty much the football nirvana. Prospective players generally don't care what trophy you won last season - they care about what European competition you are in.

Therefore, in my opinion, a top 4 finish is comparable to a cup win, so merely counting trophies isn't really as relevant any more......having said that, I think we've managed to lose our last 4 or 5 cup finals, so maybe my opinion would differ if we'd won any of those (I was at Wembley for our last win vs chelsea).

In my view, all things considered, nowadays it's a bit of:

Man City, United, chelsea, arsenal, liverpool (debatable which order and ignoring the fact city and chelsea are cash manufactured success)
GAP
Spurs
BIG GAP
Newcastle, Everton, West Ham, Villa

I cringe everytime an opposition fan says 'empty trophy cabinet' or 'no trophies'

Just show themselves up for what they are which is someonw who only started paying attention to the game in the last 10 years or so, probably doesn't actually watch any football but highlights and is only in it for 'the banter' not actualy enjoying their own team's football etc.
