A few months ago some gormless-looking Liverpool fan sat down at the table next to me in a pub and got into a conversation with some other random guy (who he didn't know) about football. For some reason the discussion turned to Real Madrid, at which point gormless Liverpool twat chimed in with "and that Gareth Bale is doing quite well for them, which is weird because he wasn't really that good at Spurs."

At which point I leaned over to the guy he was talking to and said "mate, you might want to find someone else to talk to. This guy clearly hasn't got a fucking clue about football."

Very out of character for me, but there's something about the combination of arrogance and ignorance of the average Liverpool fan that makes me want to slap them down.

How'd he react to that? "I'm not 'avin' that mate" ?

Just continued saying he was overrated, and the whole "stats lie" thing when I mentioned the number of goals he scored. Eventually said he hadn't watched much of our games but had never been too impressed.

Have to give him credit for not randomly bringing up Hillsborough though.

It was an idiotic thing to do and JV could have seen red. Would you think the same if Suarez or Costa did it to Harry?

I didn't think it looked that bad and the bloke who fell to the ground even apologised afterwards as he clearly knew it was nothing.

The ref thought the same, which is why it wasn't a red (or even a yellow?).

Can see where you're coming from though. Another ref, another match etc. Poch will remind him of that I'm sure.

. Personally I think Mason, Kane, Bentaleb and Lloris are the leadership in the squad and everybody else are following there lead. And on the headbutt ive been in many little friendly skirmishes with my older brother where weve accidentally bumped heads and yeah they hurt for a while but they never leave me rolling around on the floor.
What a load of bollocks!

When did football fans get so offended by a bit of blood and thunder? Diving, biting, spitting, racism etc well that's fair enough as it's scummy but a bit of fight is all good in my book.

I think the problem is when one incident gets punished but another doesn't. Inconsistency by the officials and the media.

That's all well and good, n'all, but the question everyone wants to know is...did he tell you anything about the Sleepy Giants???

Should have wound him up by saying "That south american striker you had is 10 times the player now he's at Barca"

Arrogance combined with ignorance is one of the most disgusting concoction of humanity's worst flaws possible. It has led to wars, famine, destroyed families, and Liverpool fans saying asinine shit in bars about Gareth Bale. It is only right and proper you had a go.

Done a bit of whoring on a West Brom forum. Disappointingly mundane but in an attempt to get the thread slightly on topic ...

Spurs are very inconsistent this season under their new manager. I can see us drawing this one and if you offered me that now I would snap your hands off. They have a very good selection of players. If we can be as well organised and as well disciplined as we have been so far under Pulis then we will get something from the game.

Hopefully if we've got Mcmanaman on board we will have a better out ball and won't sit back in our own half for 90 minutes.
I think if we set up with a bit more of an attacking option than we did against Everton, without being too gung-ho, there's something in this game for us.

I hope that Sheff Utd will give them a real tough battling game tonight. Some days Spurs looks class great football going forward, but always weak at the back.

I expect that we'll set up defensively to frustrate Spurs, then rely on set pieces and the occasional break away.

The instructions will be too kept it tight and compact, and look to break on the counter.

Can't give away any silly free kicks in this game as Eriksen is dangerous from them, he's obviously a threat from open play too so I'd hope Yacob would stay on him and close him down. I watched them away to Palace a couple of weeks ago who beat them and caused them some problems going forward as did Sheff Utd last night so I'd hope Berahino and Anichebe if they play together would get some success against their defence. I'd take a draw all day long though.

we need to give Erikson a good kicking before the 80minute mark. The bloke is making a habit of getting spuds out of trouble with late goals.

I have seen Daws charge round like a bull in a china shop, throwing himself into tackles (missing man and ball) and we shouldn't compare anyone to King, it's just not fair, he was 1 in a billion.

The Chelsea game he wound Torres up and got him sent off, we need a bit more of that ****iness in our team.

Any way, I don't see either of these are acting like a brat.

It certainly wasn't acting like a captain. maybe we just remember his temperament differently but I did not think I at the time he was acting the way a leader should.

He wasn't leader at that time, so irrelevant.

Anyway, Shed End:

When you see Liverpool players escaping punishment and possibly vertonghen (there is currently nothing being said in the media about him choking someone), plus you take in to account the fact that the FA have acted so quickly to punish Costa, it's hard to say that there is definitley no agenda against us.

there is no campaign, the FA will charge Vertonghen with violent conduct tomorrow for grabbing that Sheff United player by the throat and the world will see how even handedly these things are dealt with.....

Turning into quite whingey winners, aren't they?

Everton Fans on Mirallas apparently wanting to come to us

I'm resigned to the fact he'll be off sooner rather than later. But for crying out loud, not to those tarts. I don't think I could face watching him play for another PL team.
A move to Spurs would be pointless for everyone. Except Spurs.
It shows lack of ambition on kevs part, and just shows its all about wanting more money.
Cannot fathom why he would want to go to Spurs (unless he's going for the coin), it's hardly a nailed on Champions League place is it?
When he turns up he's as good as anyone. The reason he's at Everton is because he doesn't turn up enough. You watch Hazard at Chelsea and he is relentless every match. Mirallas will do it 5 games a season maybe. I remember a brief spell under Moyes when he scored v Stoke and Spurs and I thought we'd found a player of a Suarez level, a genuine match winner. Not seen that sort of form since and if Spurs want to depart with 20 mill for him then i'd be apathetic about the whole thing.
It's bad enough that we have been overtaken by Spurs again this year, but to then sell them out most exciting players would just rub salt, dogshite, mud and AIDS into the wound.
It will be like Pienaar all over again, not good enough to get into a Spurs team that we are better than anyway. If he wants to go -let him jog on.

Eh? They're better than us but 14 points and 6 places behind and one of the first names on their teamsheet won't be good enough for our team.

This one's a smart fella
