Also,

When Newcastle had a picture of Mitrovic holding the shi(r)t in the tunnel at the JD Sports Arena or whatever the fuck it's called these days, it says "HOway the lads."

I'm sure at the light stadium in Sunderland on the seats it says "HAwey the lads."

Who's correct??

Spurs looked like they turned the corner when they sold Bale for a world record fee and re-invested that back into the squad. Wow, they have been really quite as of late. Pocettino in charge may be a positive change but they seem as far away from the 4th spot trophy as ever.

I still wonder if a lot of their transfer plans over the last few years were predicated on the idea of them being gifted the Olympic stadium. They've bought a few defenders this summer and purged their midfield of numbers, but they surprisingly haven't added a forward given Adebayor and Soldado could be off. Puts a hell of a lot of pressure on Kane to stay fit and score

I think a chunk of those players who came in over the last few years, some with the Bale money, have left - Stambouli gone today, Capoue has gone, Paulinho sold and Soldado will probably move on.

You could say Erikssen was a success, maybe Chirchires and Chadli if they get a run in the side this season but overall, he has made some poor signings. I'm not convinced Lamela will come good either.

Big summer for them, especially as after the Euros next summer, Kane might have bigger suitors after him.

Chadli and Eriksen were vital for them last year. Both scored ten plus in the league from midfield. 42 (72.4%)of Spurs' league goals last season were scored by Kane, Chadli or Eriksen: a highly unsustainable amount. The next highest scorer was Danny Rose with three. Given they have EL commitments, I'm surprised they haven't gone after another forward early in a congested market. I'm also surprised they haven't been linked with Charlie Austin, who would be a superb signing for any club in the current overheated market. They' ve signed a lot of defenders over the past two years (Yedlin, Dier, Davies and Fazio last year; plus Wimmer, Alderweireld and Trippier) but no forwards since Soldado. It wouldn't surprise me if they use a reserve side in the EL , as they could get overly stretched. Surely they have to be signing at least two forwards by the end of August? Unless they need to wait until Soldado and Adebayor exit first.

Because it's better to have 9 strikers
actually - it probably is better to have 9 strikers, than just the 2 we have (not including Ade - as all reports indicate he will play no part).
Would be great if we could add at least 1 additional striker, a creative midfielder and a winger (if lennon and townsend are both off) into the squad

Didn't realise there was a trophy for forth

Love the talk of overheated striker market, perhaps if they weren't stockpiling them.

From a west brom site

£15m may well be Spurs' opening bid, but the journals haven't done any work if they honestly believe we'd consider it.

so why dont the club just make an official statement that no transfer enquiries will be entertained? Or have they already done this?
They've said they want to keep and will offer him a new contract when he sorts his new agent out.

leaves the door open for people to attack the club when it turns out that, like any other player, an offer big enough and he'll be gone

£15m is short of our valuation, especially to Spurs when we don't need to sell.
I'd imagine we'll be offering him a new deal shortly but wouldn't be surprised if its got certain clauses in it that relate to releases.

Lepkowski basically said its aload of shit and is amazed something so stupid got published. (£15m for Berahino)

Pulis has previously stated, words to the effect that "we would not stop him going to a top club if he wanted to go and the offer was acceptable to the club".
30m it is then. even if its not i don't care as long as they replace like for like. which is tricky based on him being homegrown talent and seemingly one of us. thats the big difference.

One of us?
Really? He's never particularly struck me as that.

im not sure many youth players loyalty runs thats deep, but in terms of appreciation, he's right up there. many in his position would have already upped and left with the big contract. he shows signs of wanting to progress as a footballer, and not just financially. yet. at least thats something

Had a look around on the Spurs forums and certainly a few are saying they think there is substance to the rumour but Saido not having an agent is a challenge at the moment to get the ball rolling. Also a few arrogant people saying why on earth would he want to stay with us

Would love the media to ask TP if Saido is going for 15 million.
I would imagine a Paddington bear stare before a retort straight out of Fergie"s quote book.

They will get £20m if they are lucky. No way anyone will pay more than that unless Brenton is going for the most-strikers-in-a-25 man-squad world record.:)

Is the 15m a buy out clause or is there even a buy out clause?
If so it wont matter a fk whether Wbrom 'entertain the idea' or not.

Not a buy-out clause. I think it's just a figure the media have come up with, no ITK's are yet to deny or agree this figure is correct - but they've said there is a chance we're in for him.

I am not confident the Saido deal will go ahead...it stinks of all the other press stories linking us with people and sweet fuck all has occured...just saying. I'd be surprised if anyone else came in to be honest and if they did, we are running out of time to integrate them. I dont know if any of you lot have looked at the calender. The start of the season is not that far away FFS.

They will not get £30m for him, even Liverpool might not be stupid enough to pay that for him.

Chadli maybe a success if he has a good season. Like the last one where he scored more goals than any Liverpool player.

I'm genuinely curious now as to what other clubs' proportion of goals came from their top 3 goalscorers combined. Seems to me that any club with 1 or 2 prolific goalscorers would have a % which looked vulnerable by this guy's logic. To me it essentially reads like a way of warping the statistics to make it look like Liverpool's lack of a regular goalscorer last season was somehow deliberate!

Its just the same sort of moron that tells me we're a one man team.

At various points last year I had to hear how we were a one man team because of Lloris, then Eriksson and then Kane.
