Any views from Fulham fans???

I'm really worried about Lennon exposing Riise if there's nobody there to help on occasion. (I worry less about Riether.)

Barely has the dust settled on last night's game than another one is on us. With Spurs one thing that can be guaranteed is that the tempo will be higher, especially on their wings.

My team selection is therefore based on three factors. Firstly, we need to stop the service to their wide areas. Secondly, we need someone up front to keep their back four occupied and thirdly we need someone who can pass the ball behind their defences. Obviously we've still got the known absentees and while Diarra would normally be an automatic choice, he seems to need more R&R. So the starting line-up I'd go for is -

............Schwarzer.............
..Riether...Hughes..Senderos...Riise..
.............Baird.........
..Duff...Kara...Sidwell....Frei..
............Berbatov...

My line-up would be

................Schwarzer.......
..Riether...Hughes...Senderos...Riise..
.....Baird.......Diarra........Sidwell......
.........Frei.......
......Berbatov.....Petric..........

The reasons
If you have only one striker up front the two Spurs full backs will have license to go forward.
I'd have the three up front 'rubber banding' ie changing positions like at the Emirates.
I don't think Spurs central defenders would coup with one on one, so their full backs will have to stay put.
Hope Diarra is fit to take care of Dembele if he plays, Riise and Riether will have to curb
their forward runs as Spurs away play counter attack, and that's how Sunderland caught us out, so a solid back four with
Baird and Sidwell defensive mid-field is the order of the day for me.
One thing I'd do is leave Frei up front when they have a corner kick. (Still don't understand why we pull everyone back).

Spurs have lightning pace on the flanks with Bale and Lennon, but no pace up the middle with Dempsey, Dembele and/or Sandros.

So I'd try to match pace for pace with Frei and Duff on the wings, Diarra and (Baird or Sidwell) in the middle, then have Petric play in front of Berbs.

I've been watching Dempsey's performances for Spurs and he's not had the impact most people expected. Some of that may be due to missing the pre-season or the fact that Jermain Defoe won't pass the ball, but his performance on Sunday against West Ham was the first time he's looked at all like himself.

Cheers SK. Seems pretty reasonable to me. Their team does look so much weaker than ours on paper, but you just know that's not how the game is played.

Well I'd just be happy with an ugly 1-0 win ;)

Seriously though it'll be very difficult. Craven Cottage is an intimidating place at times.

Looking on the Fulham forums it seems that most of the discussions are unsurprisingly about Dempsey, with views swinging from those that say he was average apart from the goals, to others saying they still miss him. Everyone seems pretty united on their mourning for Dembele though.

Everybody who has the knives out for Dempsey should read this:

Love this thread, it's like hacking into your ex gf's fb account

If you learnt a programming language or two like python you'd realise just how easy it is to obtain information off the internet. :D

The irony here is that he would (allegedly) hack the ex GF's account if she ever posted about his 'worm' instead of the above in bold. :p

Nice to read some balanced comments from the opposition fans as opposed to the obnoxious tripe we usually get.

Saying that, not sure i agree that we have no pace through the middle. Dembele and Sandro are deceptively quick.

I've read this post a few times and the one before it. Why would any one bother rating that down?

Probably an iPhone mistake. There seem to be a lot of those. Don't grumble about it though mate as it tends to earn a smattering of dumbs.

Have yourself a "like" and enjoy your weekend.

Especially if we smash Fulham.

Crikey. What a miserable bunch eh? They are rather dismissive of us I think. Well, I'm going to enjoy being in their end for this tomorrow!! :blackeye:

I don't really think of Fulham as having fans. In my mind they exist as a football club that simply provides the most civilised away day in the calendar.

From the third page of their thread:

In essence I feel if we can keep their wingers busy helping on defence then we will take out their strongest players.

Also, we will have to pressure them up high, and try to force their defence into mistakes....as well as force the wingers back to help.
Pretty astute. If they press us high they will have a decent chance, as it's one thing we have trouble dealing with due to our lack of movement in midfield.

Fulham fans seem full of it about the game, fair play. I think a draw and 7 points out of last 3 games will be a good result for us

Nah this game is difficult for sure but definitely winnable. We need to keep climbing up the table and put some distance between us and arsenal/everton. I'll take a draw at goodison but we should try and win this one
