So, what are the Tromso fans saying?

Norwegian here.

Tromsø are fighting relegation, and after the norwegian FA denied them to move the league game after the Spurs game from Sunday to Monday, they're actually contemplating resting some of their more important players for the more crucial league game.

Defeatist attitude, but they've pretty much conceded defeat already, and doesn't seem to mind losing 5-0 instead of 2-0.

Tromso have 3 games in 7 days. It seems their coach Agnar Christensen has said they may put out a 'B' team against us.

I relate to facts. Quote: Tromsø coach Agnar Christensen signals a B-embossed team against Tottenham next week. Whoever starts who do not, time will tell but clearly it is that players in the starting shall be saved.

Amazing amazing statement of the ridiculous Agnar Cristensen: - We have to roll over to have a powerful team in the league matches. We did it against Besiktas away. And it turned out later to be absolutely right for us, says Christensen. Anybody can help me with memory here? What he said was so right about that?

My memory says it was appropriate since we got the place in the group stage anyway, even if it was only 1 point towards Guildford. did also it is right against Tottenham since there is a chance, no matter topped team or not. When in addition NFF is usually riders and refused to move S08 game by 1 day, the decision is even more appropriate.

Why, in the name of God, would an American fan, new to the sport, choose to support Norwich City Football Club?!?!?!?!

Respect.

Picked a team that wasn't forced down her throat by the media or picked one of the many ****ish teams in the League. I personally don't mind Norwich at all, even before I moved here.

Nice to see not everyone is suckered into following the Sky 4.

Good on her I say, but the letter... What was CH supposed to do when we finished the game with 2 Brazilian, 1 Spanish, 1 French (Captain) internationals and 1 Argentinian wonder kind with bags of potential on the pitch. There was nothing he could do, it was all about how we was going to go out an play.

Difficult to argue with any of that......particularly the bit about Guildford.

We weren't fit to share the same pitch with Tottenham Hotspur today. It was heartbreaking so watch us get so badly dominated. Spurs had 70% possession and they weren't even trying to keep it - they were always looking for the first available forward pass. I'm sure there may be some Spurs fans reading this, please don't take offence when I say I was embarrassed with the match today because even though Spurs were out of this world today we were still terrible.

The fact that Spurs were so good, and I mean really good, their final ball wasn't always there but I hardly recall a misplaced pass or a player staying on the ball too long and being tackled (not that they were even under pressure) made us look worse because all our mistakes meant we had to wait until Spurs gave us the ball back which was usually a while - their moves never broke down! Every time we got the ball either in open play or a goal kick from one of many wayward efforts from the evidently confident Spurs midfield we lost it nearly immediatley. Even if van Wolfswinkel or Elmander won the initial ball there was never a yellow shirt anywhere near to contest the second ball so Spurs just recycled possession and began another attack.

The referee also made it even harder for us. I don't want to distract the conversation from what rightly should be plaudits for Spurs and heavy criticism of ourselves but how many times was a free kick not awarded for a clear foul on a Norwich player? We also had corners not given, Pilkington wrongly flagged offside and then Lloris was booked for a handball outside the area when I recall we had Mark Bunn sent off for the same offence last season. I do not expect these would of had any influence on the result but I just didn't want to leave them un-discussed.

What is hard to take, even away from home to one of England's top team is that they had well in excess of 20 efforts and we had only a couple of half-chances all game. Ricky van Wolfswinkel SHOULD have scored a goal, but he took two or three touches too many and the chance was gone. We certainly never looked like getting a point even from the first whistle.

So the players... not much good to say about them really, our passing today was nowhere near what one would expect from a premier league team. This meant Elmander and Wolfswinkel were never in the game at all. Redmond and Snodgrass rarely left their half either. In fact I can't really recall either of our central midfielders touching the ball at all either!

AVB got his tactics spot on today against a Norwich side who just didn't have a plan B when the inevitable Spurs goal came. He played a mass of central midfielders with his only width coming from full backs who were camped in the Norwich half. I guess he must have expected to be at least nearly as poor as we were to try this tactic, but it really worked. Despite no natural wingers until Lamela came on late in the game, Spurs crosses carried real threat and even though there wasn't any protection for the Spurs wide defenders we never got in behind them.

I just don't get how we looked so different from Southampton with the same team, but changes HAVE to be made. Olsson MUST be brought in for Garrido, he was really impressive vs Bury and Garrido is just too much of a long ball merchant. Ryan Bennett would at least keep the ball on the floor if he came in for Bassong or Turner.

Get it sorted against Villa Hughton because it is Stoke away after that and I am not sure I can bear to watch anything like this again!

A Norwich fan who actually watched the game it seemed, great post tbf and spot on (except a few minor points)

'To be honest we handed Spurs 3 points on a plate. They maybe a so called top 4 team but we were crap. If we played at our best we would of won that game. Spurs were not that great, we were just awful. Im glad we were not playing a top team we would of got hammered. Cant believe it was only 2-0.'

The fucking delusion

It's hard for anyone to disagree unless they watch Norwich enough to know how well they normally play. The poster isn't saying that were weren't good but we weren't really challenged. There have been many games in the past where we've been outclassed, according to some, by other teams but I've felt that we really weren't at our best. Most fans should be able to look at their own team and say whether they played well regardless of whether they're playing Brenford or Barcalona

Although originally I wasn't that keen about Eriksen, I've changed my mind today. Just wish we had bought him before the season started. Had he played last week, we may now have a 100% record.

Our problem wasn't that we lacked Eriksen, it was that the team barely knew each other. Eriksen has come into a side with a Paulinho, Soldado and Rose that have had an extra two weeks to settle in. I don't think he'd have made an impact in the NLD

This 100%.

There's a stark difference between just not turning up and not being allowed to turn up, this was definitely the case of the latter.

Why is that so hard to understand?
Because we're Totteringham Hotspudz in their eyes and always will be.

Fuck it - some RAWK stuff.

I'm happy with Suarez, Coutinho, Sturridge but you can't help but be jealous looking at the squads Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City have. It will take a miracle to get 4th.
Fucking behave.
Eriksen assist by the way.
Wilshere is such a little bitch.
Spurs are looking very good sadly.
They are only playing Norwich
They should be looking good against Norwich, to be fair.
For all of the signings they've made, Eriksen is the key. He's the only one with any creativity. They haven't looked that great in the games they played without him.

Thing with Eriksen is that he's a bit of a downhill skier.
I thought everyone on this board knew by now that a transfer fee is only half of the equation at best. Eriksen is no doubt earning £3-5 million more a year than Alberto, and we were looking to spend big on someone like Micky/Costa/Willian at the time, who we would've needed to keep space in the wage budget for.

He's a good player and it'd be nice to have him, but we did some good business this summer and probably have more to spend in January so deal with it.
I highly doubt Eriksen is earning £96k p/w more than Alberto, who won't be on peanuts himself either. At least £20-30k. Eriksen would have been on very little at Ajax and was desperate to leave anyway, they wouldn't have needed to offer that much to lure him away. £50k max imo.

Considering all the wage cutting we've been doing anyway, don't see why we couldn't have been able to afford him, especially when FSG said they wanted to increase the wage bill when they came in, not reduce it.
What's with all the wanking over Spurs, were level on points with them? or are they already without our reach
Spurs have created very little for all their possession against very mediocre Norwich side.
It's gonna take some time for this side to really gel, which will hopefully cost them points.
Spurs defensively look fearsome. Probably for the fact they have million defensive midfielders.
I don't think there's anything wrong with being jealous of the squads of other teams - it doesn't mean you want to swap with them, but you can't help but look at Spurs line-up and think "I'd have a bit of that", they've got some great players, as do the rest of the 5 teams we're competing against.
Fortunately, football isn't won on paper, and things like how well the team gels, how much they're willing to fight and their determination all play a huge part in the actual results.

We have that this year, based on the evidence so far - do Spurs?
spurs can fuck off.
i cant wait to beat Spurs
Maybe we should check out Ajax more. Eriksen seems to be a real steal (only 1 match i know...) and he's cost them what? €10m? Suarez was cheap too considering how good he is. Vertonghen has been a good buy too.
The Sunderland fans booing Arsenal when they get the ball should realise it just makes them feel more at home.
:D
Wishful thinking that today was anything other than positive for Arsenal. Spurs too - 9 points from 12 not too bad for a side that were going to take a while to integrate all their new signings.
I know that it is fashionable thing to over-hype Arsenal and Tottenham after the recent transfer window, but I judge teams in a bit different way than only looking at their results. I actually watch them play.

Yes, Arsenal have won today, but they were convincingly outplayed in the second half, by the bottom team at the league table. I know that they were playing without Mertesacker and Cazorla, but that is still not an excuse for such a drastic inconsistency in their game. If Martin Atkinson was aware of the "advantage" rule, Arsenal would have struggled to win today.

I haven't watched Tottenham's game today, but I have watched them against Arsenal, and they were piss poor. It will take much more time than couple of weeks to integrate so many new players into the team, and overcome the loss of their star player. Beating Norwich at home today was a good result for them, but it is not like Norwich are some powerhouse of the Premier League.
Fucking hell mate, steady on. They've only beat Swansea, Crystal Palace and Norwich, and got twatted by Arsenal.
True, but it's points on the board though. They were always going to have a slow start to the season with losing their star player and integrating so many new signings. They mightn't be playing great but they haven't slipped up much and will surely improve as time goes on.

I would have hoped they would be playing a little catch up even at this early stage. Shame the fixtures have been so kind to them I suppose.

I didn't really understand that comment about Eriksen being a downhill skier can anyone elaborate?

I think 'downhill skier' is meant to suggest that he plays well against weaker teams, but not against more challenging opponents.

Yeah... Obviously, considering his horribly weak CL stats, and two anonymous performances against shitty last year ;)
