I don't know the answer to this - but how often to mid-to-upper table teams hand out jobs to managers with 5 months of managerial experience - at any level? Can't believe that it happens often...

Exactly. It's the same as any job, you'll only ever get the job if you're already there and someone leaves - you step up and work your tits off to impress.

The only way you'll ever get into a role with little experience is if you do it at a lower pay and smaller company. Are you listening Timothy?

I don't think Tim is as bad as some paint him to be. I also don't think that he is as good as some in the media would paint him to be.

I think he is a young, inexperienced manager. I am not sure any of us know how good or poor he will be once he finally lands a role...at that point his performance will dictate everything.

But i do think Tim has an issue with ego. In the end he is a manager with 6 months of experience yet he seems to be holding out for jobs that would normally be reserved for managers with significantly more experience. He has 6 months of experience and seems to be holding out for money that is on level with managers that are well established. He has 6 months of experience yet he seems to be holding out for assurances that seem more in line with managers who have more experience.

Have seen that with QPR he wanted wages in the £2m+ range, that he wanted guarantees on transfer funds and that he wanted a break clause in case of relegation. Effectively he was asking for a similar deal to 'Arry despite having roughly 30 years fewer as a manager at any level. That is down to ego as opposed to looking for the best possible situation.

Tim may have benefited by getting passed over for a couple of these roles (I don't think he would have done well at WBA or Villa).....but when his opportunity does come up (and it will) he needs to make sure that he isn't asking for the moon.

I know Jol had previous managerial experience but we certainly took a chance by giving him a full contract.

I also think you need to factor in the available options. Sherwood represents a decent gamble.

He was riding a wave when he left Spurs, but if he has left it too long now to find his next job. He seems to be overestimating the strength of his hand, not realising it weakens with each job he lets pass him by. Difficult to see a route back into management for him now. Shame because he clearly does have something to offer.

Cut his teeth in the Championship first I reckon.

Yes, he has "turned down/rejected" these teams. Couldn't possibly be that they don't want him and then he tells his buddies that he pulls out conveniently just before club announce new personnel

For a person that is no longer associated with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, many people seem to be obsessed with what he is, or is not, doing.

Its not exactly a surprise that he's missing out on jobs after being interviewed. He seemed like a good manager on the pitch, but as soon as he opened his mouth....

Sherwood strikes me as a man who talks big with no end product.

He was basically Redknapp 2.0 after AVB left. We still got thrashed by top teams, we still struggled against crap teams, but the squad had free reign to do what they wanted and Adebayor had a point to prove. The quality in our squad prevailed, as did the relaxation of the, frankly, suffocating non-style of AVB.

He doesn't want to take a job because he's going to get found out and he knows it. He hasn't even completed his coaching badges if I'm not mistaken. I don't think he will, he's going to ride with his money for as long as he can and then become a pundit for whoever'll have him.

You mean like people like Gareth Bale, Luka Modric, Redknapp etc. too, right?

We're talking about what job he's going for next, not what Supermarket he uses, or which route he uses on a Monday commute.

Or would you prefer to jump in every topic outside of the Spurs Chat forum and say "For a person/thing that isn't associated with Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, many people seem to be obsessed with it"

Last I read he was taking his Pro license or whatever at the moment. Not sure whether he's passed them, but surely he's had long enough!

Julien Laurens on the times podcast said he spoke too hugo after the arsenal game. He said that poch's training was incredible and that it was such a stark contrast too sherwood's sessions which were widely considered a total joke.

My guess would be talksport or the shite heap BT Sport are collecting at the moment. Although Sky would probably enjoy his waffle too, alongside Jamie 'my daddy's great' Redknapp.

That doesn't surprise me at all.

Sherwood is hoping his stint at our place is enough to land him a job his CV doesn't warrant.

If he is 100% serious about being a manager, and I don't think he is, then he would be jumping at the first real job offer from a decent club that came his way. Any Prem club is a decent job.
