Felt your comment about Jamie Redknapp was a bit harsh, so I WTF'd it.

who wouldn't think their Dad is great?

He's not supposed to be a pundit to be "Harry Redknapp's son", he's supposed to be impartial and offer football knowledge IMO. The majority manage it quite well, but he's very similar to Sherwood in how he can be a bit bitter about certain issues where there shouldn't be any aspect of that.

I'm sure Neville Neville is a top bloke, but luckily Gary doesn't bang on about him all the time.

Whoa, he hasnt even completed his badges yet? What, did he drop out of the course after being sacked? Or did he fail the course?

without wanting to take away from a Tim Sherwood thread, is Neville Neville a manager in the Prem?? (yes Redknapp isnt at this very moment in time!!)

you get my point... Jamie used to be very complementary about Spurs, but things did turn sour for his Dad and it will obviously affect him. Paul Merson isn't great about Spurs neither is Ian Wright. it's the way the cookie crumbles, I'm sure most United fans don't like Jamie either for his LFC Connections.

We can take solace in that we have Gary Lineker in our corner.

If you're admitting he's biased towards his dad, I don't see how @spurs mental 's comment was 'harsh'. I wouldn't expect ex arsenal players to be complementary, even though many are, but Jamie is an ex spurs player. I doubt we'll see his dad manage in the PL again.

He seems to be getting the offers though, on more money he was on at spurs, so it's him turning the jobs down.

I'd be careful about this assertion . Tim has a tough agent/marketing team working on this . Its my opinion that the publicising of Tim's candidacy for these jobs is part of a strategy to keep Tim in the national eye . I'm not certain how many of these jobs applications were taken seriously by the clubs concerned .

The papers reported odd things like 'Tim did a great interview' (at Palace) also the phrase used is often Tim 'was linked' to so and so job . Paper talk , but paper talk encouraged by his marketing team imo ...and the above post quoted, is an example of it working imo . Chairmen have to look closer at candidates tho.

Trouble is everyone has noted Tim's numerous applications and 'short lists'...Comedy is creeping in ..

Why he won't try a smaller club we don't know , it leaves an impression of arrogance though. It may be just his marketing strategy. Good luck to him .

It's an interesting angle on the whole thing. It's better, in light of your view, to take my comments with the caveat of "If the reports are true" perhaps.

Maybe he's got a 'gentleman's agreement' with Real? :coffee:

"you made me a promise. You promised me if we didn’t qualify for the Champions League and a good offer turned up you’d listen to it. Well that offer has arrived and I want to Manage Real Madrid. So keep your word and negotiate. I’m not interested in Manchester United or any other club. I only want to Manage Real Madrid."

Might have been a bit harsh, but @225 has pretty much covered what my response would be.

Fair enough if you want to WTF me or whatever, I just looked for an explanation because I was surprised at it.

Personally can't stand Jamie, think he's a biased tosser, pundits are supposed to be as impartial as is possible. He could learn a coupe of things from Carragher and Neville, and he's been doing it a lot longer than each of them.

Problem with Sherwood is that he needs more managerial experience but his ego won't accept that the best place for him to get this is with a Championship club.

He could become a good manager but I think he talked way too much shit about Levy and our players when he's been a pundit or given interviews. He's an unknown quantity if you're a chairman looking at him for a job, he could easily turn out to be a disaster and then you'd worry about him running his mouth if you sack him. It would be less hassle to just hire a different manager,

I don't dislike him but I think his ego may have made this harder for him than it could have been.

I don't dislike him but I never really like people to do well once they leave (when we let them go anyway) as it makes us look like we effed up

Plus I can't stand Villa so if he gets the job I really hope he takes them down

It's funny, when 'Arry was Spurs manager Sky took Jamie off coverage of any of our games for fear of him being biased towards us. Since we sacked his dad he hasn't had a good word to say about us, yet Sky will happily line him up to spout his anti-Spurs agenda.

http://www1.skysports.com/football/...ks-with-tim-sherwood-over-vacant-managers-job

Aston Villa are in talks with Tim Sherwood over their vacant manager's job, according to Sky sources.

Sherwood is Sky Bet's odds-on favourite to replace Paul Lambert, who was sacked this week with Villa in the Premier League relegation places.

And discussions have now begun with the former Tottenham boss, who we understand spoke to QPR about their manager's job only for a deal to falter over personal terms.

I think this merry-go-round is hilarious. :D

According to TalkSport before, Leicester or Hull. Although I can't see Bruce being sacked even if they do go down.

You never know, it might be "Sherwood to take over QPR at end of season"
