I'm pleased for Tim and I'm pleased for Villa. Regardless of my feelings for him when he was with us, he is a good, young English manager and we need more of those.

Also I hate Rogers so win/win.

Went to Rileys to watch Spurs Newcastle and ended up getting 2nd half of Pool Villa followed by second half of our game. To my surprise I lept out of my chair when Villa went 2-1 up. I had no idea I hated liverpool so much

It would be lovely to have a man in charge of Spurs who knows something about tactics and it would be nice to really play Liverpool off the park for a change.
Maybe ONE day we will have such a manager?

He is playing international next season, we probably not :D

What a dude he is.
Villa need to win the final to get into Europe

Uefa introduced a new rule in July that if the domestic cup winners had already qualified for the Champions League, the spare place would revert to the league.

If he keeps villa up and beats arse in the final - possibly at our expense at europa qualification,
then he would be my manager of the season.
It would be a stunning achievement. If.

All credit to Timbo this weekend.

Whatever his faults (and I maintain that there are many), he's got his big players playing well and it's obviously given Villa a lift.

The real test will come next season for him, but he came in with the brief of keeping them up and he's done that and added a cup final to boot. Even his most ardent detractors can't say he hasn't done well.

Was really impressed by Villa yesterday, the stats say that Liverpool had more chances and more of the ball but my eyes told me Villa were by far the better team and if they had of took their chances could easily have got at least another 2 goals. He has that Villa team working their balls off, didn't give Liverpool a chance to settle on the ball and get into their game.

I wasn't a fan of his, but I didn't hate him either but we need to look at how he's performed with his brief spell with us and how he's doing at Villa. He's clearly a winner and a motivator (for those who don't mind hearing the truth) will be very interested to see how he goes next season and how much backing he will get.

I see him doing very well next season.........the players at Villa KNOW he is the boss, the hardest thing for any manager is doing the caretaker role and still trying to get players believing in your methods and playing for you.
Just look at Newcastle, the players there know that Carver won't be there next year and couldn't care less.

If that's a subtle knock on Poch and praising of Tim then that's quite harsh on Poch Tim played Liverpool last season and got thrashed 4-0, he has managed one very good game against Liverpool. And we played well against Liverpool losing 3-2 unluckily, again harsh on Tim.

Sorry if you thought I was being subtle,I really didn't want to convey that impression.
I think even the thickest fans here can ALL see now that the problem at Spurs was the players and certainly NOT Sherwood.

We were outplaying Liverpool at Anfield and winning under AVB, until Walker decided to try his fuckwit hail Mary back pass.

Playing Chadli in CM was Sherwood.

I think Sherwood for the second game running got his team and tactics bang on and Villa played really well. Benteke is playing better than I've seen him play for a very long time. They actually have some decent players that when tactically put together right and work hard can give anyone a game.

It's taken Sherwood a few games but he's found a good formula. He did the same with us at Newcastle away last year, went 433, had Paul and Bentaleb paling off Capoue central and it was our best performance under him. For some inexplicable reason hie then reverted to some of the daft shit like Chadli as a CM, or Eriksen and Sigurdsson as his "battling CM2" away from home.

If he sticks with what he's doing now Villa can do well, especially if they keep hold of Benteke and he stays fit and up for it like this.
