Great post.

The modern day fan are too expectant, unrealistic and want everything perfect, fortunately they're in the minority unfortunately they seem to be the most vocal.

A'int that the truth, to many game players and not enough realistic fans.

I can only hope most of the critics are either the older gents or wee babies, as speaking as someone approaching his mid 30s, we've rarely had it so good

I am one of the older gents, having been a supporter for over fifty years, but I am certainly not a critic and am really excited about this season.

I didn't mention that to be disrespectful, by the way, as if I had seen our '60s team I'm sure I'd have a very different take. Having said that, my dad was born in '49, and he's been very happy last few seasons

Until recently my glory years were Lineker/Gazza/Venables era, as I was too young to truly remember the early-80s team, though the VHS tapes were well worn. It was a Spurs mirror, to celebrate the UEFA Cup win, that my dad gave me that inspired my allegiance

It's why I instantly love Soldado. He oozes Lineker. Now we just need to find his Gazza…

Mate, I am three years younger than your dad and I didn't take it as being disrespectful either!

Im in my early 30's and i fully appreciate the club now compared to almost 20 years ago.

Good god i still have moments where i think the ginger pele could have really made it into the ballon d'or nominations if only we kept hold of him. Its much like now with Bale, except in those days we had no chance of holding on to world class talent!

You overlapping full-back has to put in a decent cross, not seen Rose put one in yet, it usually hits the front man.

You see it as negativity, we see it as establishing areas for improvement which is positivity.

Not 100% sure what the OP means by 'all this negativity' .But there's certainly been an outpouring of negativity in this thread aimed at other Spurs fans . I don't fully understand this need to attack other Spurs fans in this manner , but there you go .

We all have differing opinions and airing these on a football forum is entirely allowed . It seems to me this thread is an attempt to censor genuine opinions that differ from the OP's , included in this is the implication that those differing opinion holders are somehow inferior ..

..Which they aren't , they just have differing opinions....best to get used to it eh (y)

He is a winger converted, his crossing shouldn't be a work in progress really should it?
His defensive game and positional play yes.

Hear hear, Jacob. I couldnt agree more with all of this.

The Danny Rose part, i still think we need some competition in his position. I cant recall any names, but im thinking an aged 28-31, with international experience, that could settle with 15-20 games a season(to high a demand to make?).

But even with the seemingly approaching Bale sale, im confident, that with the new signings and a world class manager, we can rise a challenge for atleast top 4, or if i dare say, a real title contender.

It should not be seen as an attack on other spurs fan... I just wanted the things i wrote of my chest, and try to pull the debat in a positiv direction in regards to the 3 things.

People are entirely allowed to have there own opinions, and every opinion is welcome, thats what this is all about, and keep things alive.....

I do not think less of people with another opinion then me, but will always try to convince them otherwise, and this post is just a attempt to brighten things a little for those who are negativ on the things mentioned in my first post.

Competition is needed, no dubt... really dont care who we bring in, as long as it is someone who can push Rose, and and vice versa.

I definitely see a top 4 finish this year, and the top 6 closer then ever
