I'm pretty sure I saw him sneaking around the bins around Turnpike Lane last night. I asked him if he was okay and he just kept shouting 'I CAN KICK A FOOTBALL INTO A SKIP' before scuttling off into the night.

Poor David Bentley.

With transfer fees and wages. hes cost us over £30 million if he is on 60k a week, and we wont get a penny for him, that kills me, let alone Daniel Levy

Definitely in the top 5

1. Bentley
2. Rebrov
3. Bent
4. Oyvind Leonardsson
5. Ben Thatcher

Leonhardsen? He was only £3m, a seasoned PL pro who played for 3 seasons and much of his problems were down to injury. Contextually we've ballsed up a lot more than that

For one, Postiga was a horrific signing. We made at least a £2.5m loss on him over one season for the return of one league goal and he never even vaguely looked like he'd adapt to the PL

Postiga was a funny one, because he has gone on and scored some important goals for his country and beleive he's still playing in Spain for Zaragoza, but granted he was generally shite.

No general about it, he was awful for us. Headless chicken who looked totally at sea in England

Scored lot of goals in Portugal, but so what? If Bent is making our top 5 worst signings when he scored 25 goals in two seasons and contextually we didn't take too much of a financial hit (between £6m and nothing depending on who you read), Postiga is infinitely worse value

No WAY is Bent deserving to be in the list of worst signings. He didn't fit our system and we paid a lot for him but he scored a goal every 3 games or such without being number 1. Surely on current form Ade is more deserving? 1 or 2 goals this year? Considering last year he wasn't signed so those goals in this list don't count.

Toda? Mabuzela? Ricardo Rocha? Wayne Routledge (Bit harsh), Andy Reid (Although we got Dawson out of it) .. etc. Just quickly off the top of my head.

The thing with Bent is that we signed him when Berbatov, Keane and Defoe were already at the club. He was our record signing and yet was already at best the first sub when he joined, which made it an utterly baffling purchase.

I don't expect we actually lost any money on him in the end given he did well for Sunderland and Villa paid even more for him than either ourselves or Sunderland did, but in terms of the squad at the time he was a massive waste of money.
