Rumor has it he'll be on the pitch tonight at 8pm at WHL. I'm doubtful though. He might have a bird shit in his mouth, contract bird flu, and be missing for another 5 years until we're relegated to Conference football.

He'll come out the traps all guns blazing now and score a hat trick then get sent off for ripping the head off one of the Gills strikers like a crazed possessed psycho

He really must have done something cause no one on the right mind would drop an in form, boss for a just back from injury and not in form yet player in Verts.

After last year one would think that we found a diamond in the rough. He came in and made you forget about Verts. He barely has a hiccup and made fantastic save after save for us. So what gives?

I just don't see it and suspect we have another Nabil on our hands or something cause the hush hush nature screams insecurity in the club house.

Poch made a point of Vertonghen being a leader on the pitch, yes one of his lieutenants and obviously prefers him out there.

Defence looked very composed today compared to the days of Fazio and Chiriches. We could do really well in this comp with a group of younger players!

A thought that I would like y'all to weigh in on.

Does the idea of Wanyama coming in signal Dier moving back? The jury is still out on what Eric's best position is. I think I might be leaning more CB for the long haul, but we'll see. Either way I do think Poch sees the talent in Dier and wants to get him on the pitch which could be sacrificing Wimmer.

Kevin may be just coming back from injury, but do we have surpluss now? Could the idea be to get something for Kevin and see a four of Toby/Verts/Dier/CCV complete a very strong quartet, Which makes the DM Vic/Dier.

All speculation, but with CCV gaining praise from teammates and coaches alike, he is bound to make his name at Tottenham. And with Dier still being young and very gifted, could a CCV/Dier future look more appealing to Poch?

Either way I love Kevin on the pitch and think he is a major asset. Glad to have him on the team.

Iirc, last season Poch said he sees Eric as a CB long term.
