Criticising someone based on something that is just speculation and complete guesswork which might not even be true isn't an opinion though. It's just complete nonsense and makes no sense. The foundation of every opinion should be evidence to back up that opinion. Not guesswork.

Nah, I don't think the fact that one player is impressing more than another and therefore gets selected ahead of him is strange. Honestly, what is strange about that?

And what evidence, other than that complete speculation and guesswork, do people have to be implying that Pochettino is lying about the situation?
it's a question about who u rate more, which is pure opinion, having seen how wimmer played last year and how ccv played for youth teams and in preseason it is fair to form such an opinion.

Then when u see a player (wimmer) that somebody may rate higher than another (ccv) who is getting into the matchday squad a head of the a fore mentioned higher rated player it is strange.

And with poch so far everytime a strange player situation has come around, so far he has acted very ruthlessly with townsend, bentaleb, pritchard, n'jie and mason all getting axed very quickly.

I dont know why you r getting so worked up about people questioning poch's decisions, imo no matter how much u trust a person it's never wrong to question their decisions in a healthy manner.

Agree with that first paragraph. Thinking that Wimmer is better than CCV and believing that he should be selected ahead of him is absolutely an opinion. And a perfectly valid one.

But suggesting the managers explanation is a lie based on absolutely nothing is not an opinion.

It's not strange that CCV is outperforming Wimmer in training though and is being preferred to him in the match squads. That's the opinion of the manager, which is based on more direct evidence than any here has.

Also, previous situations with other players does not set a precedent until we actually know that there are similar circumstances, and all the evidence suggests there isn't. Pochettino made it clear when players weren't in his plans. He hasn't done that with Wimmer, it's simply a case of CCV outperforming him at training.

has anybody called poch a lier, because obviously poch rates ccv higher thats y he puts him on the bench which is fair to poch.and nobody can call him a lier because his actions reflect his word.
but we can still question his decision and speculate all we want because that is what fans do. i just wouldnt, get carried away or really believe anything until like u said things become clearer.
That said when their is a specific pattern emerges about how poch handles his squad it is reasonable to wonder if a similar situation is playing out with wimmer

Stunned tbh personally I'd have Wimmer starting ahead of Vertonghen currently & yet for some strange reason he can't make our bench.

Pretty obvious this is about fitness. Wimmer didn't really have a pre season as he did his hamstring in Australia. When he arrived by his own admission he was overweight and Poch got him to lose all that. I suspect he just isn't in the physical condition Poch requires.

Yup, it's the logical explanation - hr spent the first part if last season not being picked for the squad as well.

Oh well. I suppose you could hope that Jan picks up a knock or something, and then we can see who Poch replaces him with? Would that work?

I cannot agree with Poch on this. Wimmer was solid for 3 months in the Premier legaue

He deserves bench role minimum

If it's about performance as Poch said then Wimmer should have kept his place last season. Poch's logic on this makes no sense at all.

Pouch has also said its about fitness, and when that players comes back injured and misses pre season its not a surprise that he will be down the pecking order.

When he gets his fitness up (same with GKN) im sure he will start to make some match day squads.
