Today it could have been:

Lloris

Walker Gallas Dawson Vert
Lennon Sandro Dempsey Bale
Ade Defoe

yeah, because the one thing that game lacked was Dawson whacking the ball 60 yards to their CB's to complete the set of shitness.

I'm sorry but there will be more days like today until we get Sandro, Dembele and Parker back. Just hope Sandro is not seriously injured as neither of the other two will be back for a month. We will not create anything with Huddlestone and Sigurdsson in central midfield. For the forthcoming league matches, I'd be tempted to push Vertonghen into midfield although Naughton doesn't fill me with confidence at left back.

We should have backed AVB in the summer, paid the price and brought in Moutinho and Willian. I fear that both are now out of reach.

I bet you've just won the league and Champions League on Football Manager 2013 haven't you?

Tactical genius.

Not out yet.... But I will be giving it a bash! ;)

On a serious note, that is if there is one to your comment? Are you happy with our tactics? If so where do you think it is going wrong?

On a serious note, was you happy when Redknapp played the formation that lost us 3rd place? Oh and fm13 is out already ;)

It is going wrong, because we have far to many players who don't give a shit or are shit and regardless of whatever manager in the world we bring in, they are never going to step up to the plate or improve.

The squad is an utter mess, it is that simple.

Where exactly in our team do you see a good hold up striker and a quality right winger?
Dempsey, Sigy and Defoe are at most a mid table club players.........

AVB has done some good stuff this season but he's also being very stubborn with some of the players he continues to persist with even though we have others waiting in the wing who would clearly improve the team.

This is the crux of it for me, despite all the injuries we have had, one of the biggest problems this season is that we have had better players sitting on the bench continually because AVB is being loyal to a certain few.

It went wrong with Levy selling Modric and VDV and replacing them with cheap, poor alternatives. Also waiting until the last minute to make a bid for Moutinho which failed.

In terms of what we have, I still don't understand why Lloris isn't playing. Freidel is not at the same standard as Lloris.
I think AVB is scared because of the tactics he used at Chelsea and got the sack. he needs to big up and drop Defoe and Friedel and bring in better players.

Also AVB needs to tell Levy to start preparing now for January signings.

Our performances this season have been very poor. I hope levy is watching and realises how badly he has cocked up.

You really think dropping defoe is the answer?? Where are the goals going to come from?

Where has it all gone wrong.?
To be honest I'm, not sure it has yet. 10 games in sharing fourth.
Today was pretty poor all round, we could have lost by two or three.
But there's plenty of time for it to get better (or worse obviously)

The goals will come from a number of areas. It is a myth that Defoe is a prolific goal scorer. He misses far more than he scores and to top this all off he has no footballing intelligence at all. In the first few games I counted at least 20 opportunities where a simple pass would have produced a clear cut goal-scoring opportunity, yet Defoe choose to shoot. Of those opportunities he only scored a single goal, thats not exactly conclusive, but it makes my point. By playing Defoe you are taking intelligence out of your side, you are asking a player to play a role he cannot. By dropping Defoe and playing Ade you are making us a more cohesive unit, as his movement and ability to hold up the ball allows players to get into goal scoring positions by creating space and flicking balls on. Also Ade was hardly a slouch in the goal scoring department last season, he got 14 goals and similar number of assists.

Let's put something to bed right now, Dempsey is not a bad player, you do not score that many goals for a mid table team in the PL and be a bad player. However Dempsey is not a midfielder in the classical sense. He isn't going to pick the ball up and spray it around, what he is going to do is make intelligent runs and cause defences a nightmare by being unpredictable with his runs. Playing Ade provides players like Dempsey, Bale, Siggy and Lennon all to make a greater impact as they will not be trying to get into a game without a platform.

Defoe has a vital role to play for us, that role is of an impact sub. He can be very dangerous in the last 20 mins and that is how we should be using him.

Lets not forget the countless times he is offside. So frustrating.
Ade had a good game when he came on. Lets hope it continues

Tbf he sees them in training and don't think it some sore of loyalty. I am not sure who is on the bench who is definitely better than the ones fielded. Problems is that thre are too few on a whole who are performing and quite a serious injury situation currently.

One thing we lacked was a leader. A player who would inspire others by giving his all. Dawson for all his faults, always gives his all.

You don't have to agree with the guy but Dawson is a much better player then you give him credit for. Whereas Gallas hasn't performed to the level you have given him credit for this season imo. Both players have their uses to us, and maybe Dawson could have helped us today.

Ade is a much better striker than Defoe in the formation AVB plays, actually he is just a much better forward than Defoe. Lloris, the current French captain, is a much better goalkeeper than Friedel. Naughton is a better LB than Vertonghen who keeps saying he is a CB!
