Yes because we have too much else to do to replace Vertonghen as well. Surely there is no one left who actually thinks Vertonghen is a good defender? Very good footballer but incapable of many of the basic tenets of centre back play. Slow on the turn, poor in the air, shrugged off the ball easily, can't move his feet quickly enough etc.

Well, that's my point. I think he's a good player but he's too slow of Poch's high-line defense. I would like to see Robertson or Balanta signed as back up LB.

I only disagree with one or 2 of your names and conclusions

Since about December, subject to player availability (eg injury and ANC), Poch has pretty much relied on a core of 10 players - Lloris, Walker, Rose, Vertonghen, Dier, Mason, Bentaleb, Eriksen, Chadli and Kane, So these I'd regard as the core that Poch wants to build round.

I'd suggest that Vorm as back up gk is one that Poch would prefer to keep, as with the newly arrived Yedlin (although he could be loaned out) and likely Davies (who has not played that much as Rose form has been so good).

The '11th' man has usually been one of (in no order) Townsend, Lamela and Dembele - although in recent months the latter has not been seen, possibly his 'recurring hip injury', and Paulhino has been seen a little more ? So I'd suggest that any (or even all) of these might be available to be upgraded if the price received for their sale was good enough - although I suspect it'll be Lamela or Townsend who goes rather than both.

The likes of Chirches have been seen - but only when Walker has been injured, so I'm not convinced he's on the retain list. Stambouli is a funny one - hardly featured despite tired bodies at CM, so on balance IMO Poch has decided he needs upgrading. Equally Fazio has had good spells with Vertonghen at CB, but despite offerring leadership he's not really suited to Poch's high line and seems to be being superceded by the impressive but young Dier.

So that leaves Chirches, Kaboul, Capoue, Adebayor and Soldado (5 players) as the list who Poch would most like to selll this TW, with Lamela, Townsend, Dembele Paulhino plus Stambouli and Fazio (6 players) also available at the right price and subject to a better player coming in.

Then there are the loanees like Carroll, Pritchard, Fredericks, Alli and Veljkovic who I am assuming will be retained (including further loans) but even in this list the likes of Carroll may be moved on - but we may retain depending on how our other transfer business goes.

That's a lot of players who Poch might want to move on, and I suspect a few will still be here at the start of the season - with players not wanting to move on due to the relative £/euro exchange rate making their wages very expensive to continental clubs. So it'll be interesting to watch which and how many of the 11 players I've suggested Poch may wish to move on - and importantly how many early in the TW

It's kind of a shame QPR have been relegated. They seem like the obvious club to try and buy Adebayor. Hopefully sherwood looses Benteke and goes all out for Lord JuJu

You're doing Ade a great disservice by making out he's only good enough for a relegated club if they had survived or a club where his former boss manages. He has quite a bit more talent than that actually. He just needs a fresh start somewhere. We all know he can be a hell of a striker.
