What makes you think he'd want to rebuild so badly? If he's any sense he'll understand we've got the makings of an excellent team. All we need is to be made into a cohesive unit and from what i've heard Tuschel is capable of doing just that.
He will have to rebuild because half the squad in my opinion will leave,

I'm not too sure. Holtby for a start would recommend his methods.

I think they'd be more relieved that Sherwood isn't there any more to be honest.

To be completely honest, I've not heard of him and know nothing about him. I might not be the only one so please feel free to post something about him. I know we could google the name but it would be good to read about him through Spurs goggles (y)

From what I've been reading about him on here and various other sites, he seems really good. Holtby seems to rate him too, so i'd be all for it. I'd rather him that Pochettino.

I posted this in the Van Gaal thread earlier, but might as well put it in here, he's tactically brilliant imo.

"I've been following the Bundesliga very closely for the last 8 or so years, and I genuinely think the guy's a tactical genius.

People will say it's like an AVB, Ramos appointment, but I really think its the opposite. He has consistently acheived wonders at Mainz, without a big transfer budget, in a league that is probably the most similar to the BPL.

Think of it this way- Imagine Sunderland/Cardiff got relegated this season, and hired a new manager this summer. This new manager then promotes them back to the BPL comfortably after one season, secures 13th place finishes twice in a row, with the second lowest wages, and 3rd lowest transfer spending in the league.
He then leads them to 5th the next year, with a squad that hasn't actually changed that much from the one he took over in the 2nd division.

He's never fallen out with a players, and unlike AVB, is flexible with his tactics, which allowed him to beat Bayern 3 times in the last few years.

If anyone did that in the BPL, we'd be raving about them, and th bundesliga is the 3rd best league in the world imo.

Seems to be a risk, with far more benfits that Pochettino or De Boer for me, plus he's only just 40.

If that doesn't persuade you to take a risk, I don't know what will.

He even made the team train on a rhombus shaped pitch to cut out useless long balls from the fb's down the line. ( I'm lookin at Rose here...)

The man's a genius , and by far our best realistic option imo."

If we want to take another risk, and go for someone who can build a dynasty, id love us to look at Thomas Tuchel. The more i read about him the more I am impressed. Done wonders with mainz. He is widely regarded as a 'tactical genius'. Has great a mentality, innovative training methods, deveops youth, has worked with Holtby before, and interestingly, he has outsmarted LVG in the past....

Well, there seems a lot of love for Tuchel, he would be my first choice. Does anyone know if he's likely to leave Mainz though?

The more I read about Tuchel the more I like. Don't know where the buzz came from but I suspect it is just twitter, blogs etc but maybe the media will pick it up and eventually the idea will get to Levy. Fingers crossed (perpetually)

Couple of points. The Bundesliga does not have great strength in depth, I don't want to belittle what Tuschel has achieved, but go below Dortmund, Leverkusen, etc and it thins quite quickly in real quality.

Holtby is not our best player. I like the lad, has shown goood application at Fulham and more than happy to have him back, but if signing a coach meant pleasing a player, there are others on that player list I would want to please above Holtby.

Tuschel has zero pressure at Mainz. Honestly, he could flirt with relegation next season and no one would bat an eyelid. Yes to a degree he has earned that, but that kettle of fish turns into an ocean full of sharks at the deep end when you take over a club like ours or higher and Tuschel hasn't had that experience.

So, if he came I would find the appointment a very interesting one. But it would be an experiment and we would likely, though no guarantees have to expect players leaving who wont think that they have time on their side to see out such an experiment.

Honestly, I still believe we have too many very decent players that need to perform immediately, ground running as soon as next season starts. For that I think we would be better off with a LVG or a Klopp style appointment.

But if levy is prepared to take a bigger risk for whatever reason, he would be high up my list.

This is a man who has been in coaching for a long time and has a proven record of bringing players through. The man has also been able to keep FSV Mainz in the bundesliga when Klopp couldn't.
